RE: New at our Farm for 2018: Crypto as Accepted Payment Method!

in #homesteading7 years ago

Great!
I envision a future where people are going around with their phones, purchasing everything with Steem, everybody is on Steemit, the buyer transfers Steem from her Steemit account to the seller´s Steemit account, in about 3 seconds the seller sees the funds in her account and hands over the merchandise. Later on the buyer writes some feedback about the quality of the product, while the farmer has some special recipes for his product on his blog, maybe sends a link to the buyer with the purchase.
That´s how we take back the economy from the banksters, cut out the middleman, enhance and rehumanize our shopping and selling experience to what it was like before, markets were an event, also entertainment and meeting point.
That´s also how I envision a merger between technology and ecology. People producing very high vibration, quality organic food, raised with tender loving care, using blockchain and crypto to get the word out, get connected with customers and other producers, get the transactions done, networking, growing, thriving, and saving the fucking planet in the process 😎
In the beginning, since most people are still earning in fiat, prices might need to be calculated on the base of the exchange rate to fiat, but later on, this might not be necessary any longer.
I also would like to encourage you to become a steemit and Steem ambassador at your farm and your market stall, get people to sign up to steemit, maybe give them a carrot if they do 😉, then do those transactions as described above with them.
If you look at blocktivity.info you can see that Steem is already number one in terms of number of transactions done, doing all those transactions at 0.14% capacity, so there is room for many more transactions, while Bitcoin is struggling sometimes with its capacity at 100 % plus high fees, while Steem has no fees.
If you have customers with some VP, they could even pay with upvotes, at least a part of their purchase.
Then you just need a way to combat the built-in inflation of Steem of about 10% per year, maybe via some additional upvotes, like coupons but not for the buyer but for the seller.
Also get other farmers to follow your example, establish a "light net" as opposed to the darknet associated with crypto.
With your lotus you´re already on the right track, though later on I would use an image of the vegetable and fruit abundance of your market stall.
Wow, this could already have become an article and made me some Steem! 😉
So go forth and multiply! 😎

@likedeeler wow I think I m going to save this thoughtful and informative comment to refer back to later. We have been telling our friends and our customers and our social media followers about Steem and will continue to do so. I love your vision. This is exactly what I am talking about. Those numbers about STEEM and BTC are quite telling! We use the same large blackboard as our market sign every year and this year it is getting an overhaul! Brainstorming on what to have displayed weekly on the sign with our farm name, and Steemit address, etc. Very exciting!!

That's a great vision. It would be awesome to see exactly this happen is a dream I think is a likely possibility in the near future.

Yes, I think so too.
