RE: 2019 Garden plans

Nice @vgholdingsllc! I know what you are saying about the snow, it is making it difficult to get in the gardening spirit, but it looks like you are off to a good start this year. Hopefully, it will not do this much more or it could mess our trees up.

So far I have only gotten some heirloom tomatoes and a few peppers started indoors (some I need to replant). Then in a few weeks, I am going to try to start a few ground cherries indoors.

Do you do anything special with your sunflower seeds when you harvest them? They were something I was thinking about trying this year and would think they would also bring in bees for the other plants.

Sort:

For the sunflower seeds we just wait until they turn from white to white with black stripes. Then pull the heads and shuck the seeds out. Soak them in salt water for a day then bake in the oven. If you want more seeds for next year, pull the heads off and put them in a cool dry place until the next year. Oh and this is from last years garden, it's not that nice out yet and we have standing water in the garden still. LOL
