“Focus on the Future” Friday - Mini Microphone Fundraiser
I want everyone to take a minute and think of a few dreams and goals you’ve been contemplating lately… is there something you’re striving towards that gives you a sense of purpose every day? What is it?
Now take a minute to consider what is getting in your way.
When I boil down all my specific goals and dreams to the basics, I realize that most of them revolve around and stem from the idea of financial freedom. I want to be “happy” and, although money cannot buy happiness, being debt free is an undeniable aspect of my future happiness. I want to eliminate my student loan debt, gain independence, invest more into Wild Rose Acres, buy my own land/home, etc.
All of this requires money.
Now Steemit has been a big factor in realizing my dreams to date - blogging is holding me accountable, making friends online is giving me a sense of inspiration, and the rewards from articles help fund real world endeavors. In fact, the rewards are my only source of funding for these goals… an update about my last personal development article includes the confession that I did not go to the interview at the Wisconsin dairy farm. My anxiety spiked and I froze, both my body and mind paralyzed into inactivity. It was all I could do to text the (very understanding) woman that I was unable to make it. I am more disappointed in myself than words can describe but instead of dwelling on my failure, I want to focus on how I can move past it and grow from it. That brings me back to the method of gaining financial freedom (and power over my anxiety) through Steemit… and now Dtube.
My next step is to begin vlogging on Dtube as well as blogging on Steemit. I’ve always been interested in film and have messed around with video editing before. I have big ideas for some future videos but there is one thing I need to help make this happen… I have the camera, I have the computer (shitty but still manageable), and I have my phone… but I need a microphone.
After doing some research, I’ve decided to invest a little Steem towards this lapel microphone - it will be able to connect to all of my devices so I can create quality vlogs on Dtube and increase my cryptocurrency income. I would like to use the rewards from this article as a mini “fundraiser” in order to afford purchasing this last piece of equipment!
Do you use Dtube and do you enjoy it? What is something you wish you had known when you began your vlogging journey? Any pieces of advice for a new content creator like myself? Comment below!

Hey Kiara!
I just posted my first vlog on dtube last night, I know they will get better in time with practice, this first one was pretty shakey! I am just going to be vlogging with my phone though.
I, like you, am searching from financial freedom from debts though Steemit and now dtube. And as far as the anxiety thing goes, I know all about it and I really feel like being open online has been helping me these past few months, the connections and support are helping me become more confident and feel like a "real person" and not a crippled by anxiety hermit crab...
I wish you sucess on your journey, and success for all of us here with these same goals xoxox
Thank you! I watched the beginning of your vlog last night and will finish it today! I'm really happy that so many people like us are opening up and connecting on Steemit while simultaneously achieving our goals using cryptocurrency... it's so inspiring and comments like yours give me the courage to continue moving forward! I wish you the best on your journey as well! <3
