A Quick Introduction

Hi everyone! Really excited to be here. I was told that on Steemit, one could express themselves in ways that the other social network sites can't compare with. That sounds like something that I can really run with. I'm a Christian wife, mom and grandma along with being a published author. I am also a beginner homesteader. Right now I have about an acre that I have divi'd up between us and two of my 6 kids. I really enjoy living out here in the country. Sitting outside in the morning air gives me an energy I can't explain.

Now, let me see, what can I tell you about myself? I am a crafter. I crochet, quilt, wirewrap....yeah I just like working with my hands. Cooking has become my passion but baking will always take first place. The family loves my homemade breads. I know it's easy enough to just go to the store and buy a loaf but the joy of baking would be lost if everyone did that.

I also love to go camping and fishing. I have had a thing about survivalist training and wanted to make sure my kids knew how to handle themselves if the SHTF. I imagine there will be a few posts on this subject, as well. Let me know if this is something you would like to hear about. I am sure I can learn a great deal from you guys.

I have two fiction novels.
Into the Breach introduces my new series based in modern day Boston where a New York detective discovers that angels and demons are real and that he is a major part of that world.
Balance on the Terra is a fantasy novel much like those you might find in Forgotten Realms. It's a world of dwarfs, elves and demi-gods in their quest to same the human race.

I also have a cookbook called Homemade Mixes from the Hearth. I only learned to cook about 10 years ago when my husband of 25 years past away. He was the cook of the family although I did make a pretty amazing mac and cheese. Since that hard lesson of life, I have been putting together and trying out new blends and recipes. I now make my own seasoning blends which my family seems to enjoy more anyways. I do enjoy cooking. I noticed there are quite a few cooks on here so I will be trying new recipes from them. I hope the ones I share will be enjoyed as well.
