RE: Kombucha Making 101

in #homesteading7 years ago

I am so glad you commented on my post, which led me to this post on your page!

I have been reading so much about scoby and kombucha in the last few weeks as I just started learning about fermenting (made my own wine and garlic honey so far) THANK YOU for sharing this!

Try making kombucha! It is yummy and so good for you!
Not to mention, one of the easiest ferments!

For sure one of the easiest. To get it really tasting good though on a consistent basis and good enough to sell on regular customers is a challenge. I’m not there yet, but the guy I learned from was for sure.

That is true... I don't know if I would want to try and sell mine, it comes out a little different all the time depending on temperatures and stuff... I finally got it to where it never comes out like vinegar, which is a great thing!

Ha ha, well I’ve been looking through your stuff too. You the Queen on Steem. Have you made some kombucha yet ? What I’ve put down here is just a basic guide but hopefully it’s simple enough to get people started and experimenting with other techniques themselves.

lol- thank you!
Not yet I haven't made any. I need to get the starter

You try to make your own starter with just a couple bottles of your favorite kombucha from the store.
