All is well when the simplicitys of life make you happy

Today is an amazing day on the homestead. The sun is shining and with extreme warmth for a change. Days like today sure make it easy to forget our troubles in life. Something as small as the first time hanging your clothes on the clothesline can sure make me smile. Its almost like I feel connected to our beginnings. Don't get me wrong I'm sure glad that technology has made our lives simpler but it always feels good to revel in the good ol days before we became dependent on having machines do almost everything for us. Not saying I now want to scrub clothes in a wash basin but I do like to remember what it must have been like for our grandparents and their parents and before them. Hanging clothes makes you stop for a while and breathe in the fresh air, feel the wind in my face and let me watch my chickens and other animals frolic in the sun. It also gives my mind a break to think of other things that make me happy instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off. No pun intended. So I ask of all of you wether you have a clothesline or not take some time today even five minutes and just stand still, do nothing and take a deep breath of fresh air and thank God for your blessings.
