Homesteading Goals - What are our To 5 Goals for the Farm This Year??

The new year is here, which means there are new challenges here on the homestead. So what are our top 5 homesteading challenges for the new year?

#1 goal is to finally finish the butcher house. We need to add electricity & water to the butcher shop & also try & finish up the butcher block & cover the walls, & eventually replace the roof on the butcher shop. Watch our butcher shop videos: https://goo.gl/aKYJFk

#2 goal is to raise honey bees. We just recently got very lucky & have aquired 10 honey bee hives, & after my last honey bee adventure, which was a total failure bc i lost my hive, our main goal with our honey bees is to learn as much as possible about honey bees & also to just try & keep the honey bees alive & going! #3 goal is to get milk from our dairy goats. We plan to breed both of our dairy goats & start getting goat's milk for the first time. I do have to build a milking stand & also get a designated area to milk the dairy goats, but milking goats for the first time is a exciting farm goal for the new year. #4 goal is to get the market gardening up & going. We started the market garden this fall & was in the early experimental stage, but hopefully come spring, we can all the kinks worked out, & we can get the market garden up & going for the new year! #5 goal on our family farm is to expand our pig area. We now have expanded the pig are 3 times here on the homestead, & plan to do it even more. We really do not have a pasture area for the pigs, which are American Guinea Hogs, but we do have plenty of wooded areas or forest areas for the pigs to roam in & there are plenty of things for these pigs to eat, like acorns & hickory nuts & also worms & undergrowth in the forest. #6, now this isn't really a homestead goal, but I do have to finish my daughters treehouse here on the farm. This is a huge priority this year ;)
