Over the years, the poultry industry has emerged as one of the major sources of the much desired animal protein. In most technologically advanced countries of the world poultry remains the cheapest source of meat. Does that not wow most of the dwellers of developing countries because what transpired there is the contrary.

Several limiting factors has however minimized the rate of success in poultry. According to local poultry farmers, I realized that their enthusiasm has been dampened by several counter productive factors. These include but not limited to :
* Disease problems
*High cost of poultry feeds with low quality
content
*management, housing and environmental
control problems
*influx of poor quality of
stocks,drugs,vaccines,etc.and inadequate
fund.

It is quite imperative to note that it's principles and practices cannot be downplayed, as doing otherwise opens room for failure.
It is therefore advisable that enthusiasm alone can't guarantee a success in poultry but dexterity is an inevitable addition.

One unavoidable fact is that economic strigencies affect poultry industry,hence it is expected of a poultry farmer to be economically inclined.
Due to the challenges associated with poultry, I will introduce a question and answer segment in subsequent editions where interactive session can be enhanced.
