Soap Fail

It's about time I shared a soap fail. I have them occasionally, but in the end they're never failures - a lesson learned and an opportunity to create something from "nothing."

The orange soap batter came to trace much more quickly than usual, and was difficult to pour into the heart embed mold. For comparison, the other heart came out perfect, scented Lemon Lavender.

The large soap loaf is custom-made for a friend, and I am SO EAGER to slice into it. The heart embeds are for this soap - when I slice it into bars two hearts will be revealed from within.

I used patchouli, clary sage, lemon, and lavender essential oils plus honey for this batch's aroma. This was just the first loaf too, I have 20 more bars to make, and now that I've exhausted my clary sage, I will most likely use tangerine and/or cedarwood in its place.

Anyway, that's where my mind is right now. Thanks for checking out my soap and have a good one. If you're interested in custom-made soap, let's collaborate. Holiday soaps are the next project after this.
