[Homeless] Screw Colorado - Tomorrow I Am Utah Bound!
Three weeks of failure!
I have been in Colorado for 3 weeks now and have gotten absolutely no where. No one will hire me, no one wants to help me out and no one gives a crap about my situation here. So today I decided to listen to those who have encouraged me to go to Utah. I used to live there a few years ago (when I was married) and loved it there....even if there is no Gambling, Lottery or Cannabis legalized there.
So this morning I went and got a couple tires put on the rear of my van and a spare tire. Then headed over to Uhaul and got a small 4' X 8' enclosed trailer. Then headed to my storage and cleaned it out. Then came back to the motel and loaded everything but my desk, fridge, laptop, monitor and camera bag. I will load those in the morning and head out.
My Route
I am going to go across Interstate 70 West just a short hop and then cut up through the Western Slopes to US40. I will run US40 across into Utah and then into Salt Lake City, Utah. My Route can be seen on Google Maps here!
Photography
From what I understand there is a hell of a lot of stuff to see and photograph on this route, so it will probably take me 3 days to make the 458 mile drive. Hence the reason I got the uhaul trailer, so I can take my time and get lots of "Pretty Pictures" for my Steemian Friends!
Plan once in Utah!
First thing when I get to Salt Lake City, UT is to find a cheap storage unit somewhere relatively close to downtown SLC and empty out the Uhaul Trailer. If I remember correctly the Uhaul place I am supposed to return the trailer has storage spaces. Once trailer is cleaned out I am going to return the Uhaul trailer.
Then I am going to switch my registration for Uber to Salt Lake City, UT as soon as I get there and hopefully be able to (finally) get a rental car so I can start working. I am also going to apply with Lyft as soon as I get to Utah in case Uber keeps jerking me around like they have here in Denver.
Once I am working for Uber/Lyft I will start saving money to get the "Steemit Ambassador RV". I haven't touched any of the donations that where received towards the "Steemit Ambassador RV" and do not plan to, instead I will add to them when I can.
Car Fund!
I hope this doesn't upset anyone who donated, but the money I received in donations towards the Car Fund where used today to get 3 used tires (and 1 rim) and have them mounted, balanced and installed (except for the spare) on my van. I also spent part of it on Fluids (brake and transmission) so I can hopefully make it to Utah. I also used a portion of it towards renting the Uhaul trailer as I figured having the weight behind the van would be less taxing on the old beast than having it loaded to the brim. Plus, now I have a place to sleep (in the van) when I stop enroute to Salt Lake City, UT and after I arrive in Utah.
Help!
If you live in or near Salt Lake City, UT and have a spare room/couch you wouldn't mind "renting me" for a bit at an affordable price please let me know (email me at [email protected]). I will likely not be online for most of Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday this week as I doubt I will have cell signal for most of the route I am taking.
Also if you live in or near Salt Lake City, UT and have a spare vehicle (2002 or newer) that I could borrow to Uber with until I can buy a vehicle that would be AMAZING!

Well my van keeps breaking down, I can't find a job, Uber approved me but can't get a car to drive for them, I can't breathe....shall I keep going???
