Free floating concrete monolith demo HoloLens Artwork

in #hololens6 years ago (edited)

What was exhibited at the recent Armory show in New York was the work of Studio Drift in Amsterdam, together with ‘Concrete Storm’ a free floating concrete monolith 'Drifter', a Hololens unity experience comprised of ar vr mr sr art object.

This concrete monolith represents the basic building unit which is the main element in which the constructed environment is built. It itself is not lost in the spacetime without mentioning anything. It is always looking to be a part of bigger ones. I think that Drifter feels lost even if there is no context.

Like us, it is always looking for unity. It wants to become strong in order to give itself a purpose. Additionally, Drifter shows us how the world and its mechanisms are still unknown to mankind and emphasizes the urge to spend our horizons to evolve over time.

One way to accomplish this is to concentrate on releasing air in the opposite direction whenever the object is held in the enclosure and the block approaches the threshold. We have found that the system has (1) a tracking system that can observe the position of the object using black markers on the object and (2) a corresponding air release hole that pushes the object out of the threshold each time it reaches it A black dot on an object. On the other hand, the complete path of the object is not predefined, it is a sequence of instructions that moves the object continuously around the space and remains at a safe distance from the environmental threshold. This object is lifted by lifting the equipment and is filled with enough helium to reach its buoyancy point.
