Custom Sports Figurine - Semi-Pro Football Lineman

Its odd but it seems that the majority of the orders I get for football figurines are actually from lineman, both offensive and defensive. I have found that to be interesting as to why that would be but anyway. Here is another I finished up this weekend. This one again used a number of parts from different base figures plus it had a custom made facemask to match the one the player used. Trying something different this post since the picture that shows on the feed is the first one, I am posting a finished version.

As I stated, this player played for a semi-pro team, the Missoula Phoenix from the Rocky Mountain Football League. These teams are generally made of players who maybe played only in high school or college and want to continue playing in these regional leagues. This team was around for several years but no longer and they had at least 3 different uniforms during that time, this being the first one. The player was an offensive lineman, #64.

As with the last one I made, this figure was made from part from only 3 different poses but requires some modifications and custom made parts. The left arm had a brace which I removed and he wore sleeves so I added those using putty. The torso needed to be modified to fit the legs as those were from different players, plus I added length to the sleeves. For this piece I had to glue the left arm into the body to allow the sleeve to be sculpted. The clear face shield I made from teh plastic that forms the packaging the figures come in.

I mentioned the facemask, which was a bit exotic and not one that comes on any of the action figures I use, so a friend of mine from Mexico made one to match the actual face mask using paper clips, bent and super glued together.

Custom made facemask. I met Oscar, my friend from Mexico, doing these custom figurines on Facebook, and we have a group on there where most of the guys who do similar work are members, so that is one of the cool things about the hobby is sharing talents. I have a couple of other friends who help me with decal creation also.

The helmet, facemask and face shield were all black and it was not really possible to see the upper part of the face but I still painted the face and eyes to match the customer. Here is the head before it was hidden by the face shield and mask.

So after that, I glued all the parts together and did the final sealing and here are the finished pictures.
