Custom Football Player - Virginia State University

I recently finished a new sports custom figurine for an customer who played football for the Virginia State University Trojans in the early 1990's. Here's a picture of the team from his playing days and uniform he wanted. He isn't actually in this photo. He didn't have very many reference pictures which presents a bit more of a challenge for me to capture the details.

When I customer makes an order, I offer them a selection of poses to use for their custom figurine. This fellow was a defensive lineman, here is the pose he selected, which was actually created from parts of several different action figures.

I did make a few alterations to this pose by using different arms and of course a different helmet to match what they wore in the 1990's, rather than the modern helmet on this pose.

Above is a breakdown of the parts I used. I used parts from 5 different action figures, the legs (uppers and lowers) were from one player, the torso from another, the arms from another, the helmet, head and chin strap from another and the face mask from the 5th. I had to do some minor sculpting work on the torso to get it to fit the legs and added to the sleeves to extend them a bit from the base part. I also added knee pads as there weren't any on that set of legs. I also added a bull ring to the top of the face mask and modified the gloves (which were originally half finger gloves, I converted to full finger using super glue).
