Hello everyone, it’s @prch on behalf of @orientalhub co-organising this HK-JP-SG cultural challenge. After a week of countless discussions and coordination, HK, JP and SG communities have finalised all details on this HK-JP-SG cultural challenge.

Before proceeding to aims and rules of the cultural challenge, let’s give a big round of applause to @jrvacation for their wisdom, @kinakomochi, @sho-t, @yo-yo, and @fukako for their valuable inputs. Without them, this HK-JP-SG cultural challenge would have been stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Aims

Short-term

1. By giving upvotes and prizes, the experimental project hopes to motivate users from these communities and increase the momentum of producing quality content.
2. The experimental project hopes to send a message that steemit users are not individual islands; if one community is needing help, another community can help.

Long-term

1. The experimental project hopes that participating users can follow each other and might give support of different kinds among themselves.
2. The experimental project may become a role model on which other communities may draw to host similar cross-community events

Rules are:

1. Choose a topic of either Japanese, Singaporean or Hong Kong cultures. A topic can be anything related to the chosen culture (food, sports, art and crafts, history, transport, people, entertainment…) but it cannot be hate speech or content showing disrespect to the participating communities
2. Briefly explain why you choose the topic
3. Write about what you have seen and felt about the topic in some depth and breadth
4. Write about if the topic gives you special implications or meanings?
5. Add some pictures related to the topic to make your post interesting
6. Help everyone can appreciate the culture in your post
7. Content must be original and new on your steemit blog
8. Your post should be about 300 words in the mother language while English content must be in your post. People cannot understand Japanese/Chinese can still read your posts written in English
9. English fluency is not a really big deal, we are not having an English creative writing contest
10. To help you write simple and plain English, you may write in Japanese/Chinese as main language and use Google translate to translate Japanese/Chinese to English
11. If you have not been to Japan, Singapore or Hong Kong but still want to write about it? Sure, you may have read some books or watched some television on these cultures. Please cite your sources
12. Add #hkjpsg to your post for submission or we cannot find you
13. If you want more visibility for your post, you may tag #culturevulture to your post, suggested by @yasu24. The tag was initiated by @eroche
14. One entry submission per person
15. The challenge will be officially open and valid between 4/May/2018 (00:00 HK time) and 11/May/2018 (23:59 HK time). The deadline is 23:59 HK time on 11/May/2018 (a 7-day window)
16. Entries submitted earlier than the 7-day window will not be accepted
17. The cultural challenge is limited to community members of the Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore communities. I am terribly sorry that the challenge as a debut is still an experiment at this stage. I have no intention to exclude people from other communities but we are short of voting power at the moment to upvote all participating posts if the number of posts is beyond our capacity. Please accept my apologies
18. You are not guaranteed to have upvotes from all voluntary upvoters. The number of upvotes, the recipient of an upvote, and the amount of each upvote are at discretion of the voluntary upvoters
19. If you would like your post to be reached by the fellow communities, you may add #hk, #teamsingapore, or #japanese to your post.

HK-JP-SG三地文化挑戰的目標

短期目標

1. 透過點贊及獎勵，以此實驗性活動激勵三個社區的用戶，提升他們持續創作高質量文章的動力
2. 透過活動向大家發出一個重要的信息：我們每一個用戶、每一個社區，都不是孤立的，當有需要幫助的時候，其他的社區和用戶就在身邊，伸出援手。

長遠目標

1. 透過活動讓參與者互相關注，並自主地互相幫助。
2. 讓活動成為一個模版，當其他社區在舉辦類似性的跨社區活動時，可作參考。

活動守則

1. 在日本、新加坡及香港的各種文化中擇一為題，不限於食物、體育、藝術、工藝、歷史、交通、人物、娛樂等，只要不涉及社區仇恨或不尊重，都可以成為你的主題。
2. 簡要解釋你選擇此主題的原因。
3. 橫向及縰向描述你眼中的此主題及你對它的感受。
4. 寫下一些此主題對你的特殊含義。
5. 可適當插入與主題相關的圖片，讓你的文章更生動，增加可讀性。
6. 幫助每一位讀者去欣賞你介紹的主題。
7. 文章內容必須是原創。
8. 文章的長度應在300字左右（以用戶母語為準），英語不須是第一語言但必須是文章語言之一，讓非中文/日語用家都能閱讀及理解文章內容。
9. 不須擔心英語水平的問題，這是一個文化挑戰，而不是英文作文挑戰。
10. 如在英語上有困難的情況，用戶可以日語/中文為第一語言，並利用Google翻譯將文章翻譯成英語。
11. 縰然未有去過日本、新加坡或香港，用戶仍可以書本、電視節目等媒介認識到的三地文化知識作為文章的內容，唯請在文章中列上參考資料來源。
12. 請在提交文章時加上 #hkjpsg 的tag，否則文章將不會被我們發現。
13. 如欲讓文章得到更多的關注，可加上 #culturevulture tag。感謝 @yasu24 提供此建議，同時感謝 @eroche 發起 #culturevulture tag。
14. 每位用戶只可提交一份作品。

皆さんこんにちは。香港、シンガポール、そして日本の「文化交流チャレンジ」を組織するオリエンタルハブ　@orientalhab　の @prchです。１週間の協議と調整を行い、香港（HK）・日本（JP）・シンガポール（SG）の３つのコミュニティはこの「文化交流チャレンジ」の詳細を決定しました。

このチャレンジの目的とルールのご案内の前に、必要な情報と知識を得るために尽力いただいた @kinakomochi @sho-t @yo-yo そして @fukako の皆さんへ、大きな拍手をお送りしたいと思います。彼らの協力がなければ、「HK-JP-SG（香港-日本-シンガポール）」の今回のチャレンジを進めることは出来なかったでしょう。

目的

短期目標

1. この実験ブロジェクトは賞金とupvoteを授与することで、３つのコミュニティの皆さんの参加を促し、質が高いコンテンツ（投稿）を生みだす力が高まることを期待しています。

2. この実験プロジェクトでは、steemitユーザーに対し、それぞれのコミュニティが「孤立した島ではない」というメッセージを送りたいと考えています。 あるコミュニティに手助けが必要な場合は、別のコミュニティがそれを行うことができる可能性があるからです。

長期目標

1.実験プロジェクトにより、参加するユーザーがお互いにフォローしあい、それがまた様々な形でお互いのサポートへと発展する可能性を期待しています。

2.この実験プロジェクトは、世界中の他のコミュニティが同様の「クロスコミュニティイベント」を主催する際のモデルケースとなる可能性があります。

ルール

1. 日本・シンガポール・香港のいずれかの国の文化について記事を書いてください。ここで言う文化とは【食べ物、スポーツ、美術や工芸品、歴史、交通機関、人、エンターテイメントなど】に関連するものであれば何でも構いませんが、参加するそれぞれのコミュニティに不快感を与える題材や表現、コンテンツは使わないで下さい。

2. このトピックを選択した理由を簡単に説明してください。

3. あなたが見たり感じたりしたことを具体的に書いてください。

4. このトピックについて、もし特別な思い入れがあるなら教えていただけますか？

5. このトピックに関連する写真をいくつか追加してより魅力的にしてください。

6. あなたの記事を読む人が誰でも理解できるように心がけてください。

7. 記事はあなた自身のオリジナルで、初めてsteemitに投稿するものである必要があります。

8. 記事は日本語で約300文字以上、英文をつけて両方の言語での投稿をお願いします。これは日本語を理解できない人が、あなたの投稿を英語で読むことができるからです。

9. 英語の流暢さは大きな問題ではありません。私たちは「英語コンテスト」を行うわけではありません。

10. 日本語を主言語として作成し、Google翻訳などを使用して英語に翻訳したものを掲載していただいても構いません。その場合は、主語と述語を明確にし、簡潔で分かりやすい日本語を書く方がGoogleの翻訳精度が高くなります。

11. もしあなたが日本、シンガポール、香港に行ったことがなくても、これらの文化について本を読んだり、テレビなどの映像から学んで書くこともできます。もしその場合は参考にした情報源を記載してください。写真などの引用についても同様です。

12. #hkjpsg タグを投稿に追加してください。そうでなければ、あなたの投稿を確認することができません。

13. あなたの投稿をもっと多くの人へ共有したい場合は @yasu24 から提案戴いた #culturevulture のタグを投稿に付けることができます。このタグは @erocheによって開始されました。

14. １人につき1回の投稿のみ有効です。

15. このチャレンジへの投稿は香港時間5月4日 (00:00)～5月11日(23:59)までの7日間有効です。締め切りは、5月11日の香港時間23:59（日本の 5月12日00:59）です。

16. 前述の7日間の日程より以前・以降に提出されたエントリーは受け付けません。

17. 今回のチャレンジは、香港・日本・シンガポールのコミュニティメンバーに限られます。私はこの新しい試みがまだ実験段階であることを申し訳なく思っています。他のコミュニティの方々にも参加していただきたいのは山々ですが、もし沢山の投稿があった場合、参加者へのupvote数が足りなくなる可能性があります。どうぞお許しください。
