Hive, Steem or Both-Which One Should We Choose and Why Does It Matter?
Those of you who are on Steem for a long time already know that there was a lot going on with the Steem blockchain during the last few months. It all started when Justin Sun acquired Steemit.Inc and then things got escalated as the Steem witnesses froze the so called “Ninja Mined Stake”.
To unfreeze the fund Justin Sun tried to take control of steem by using the exchange fund from Binance,Houbi and Polonix. He created some sock puppets accounts as witnesses and then started to upvote those accounts with the exchange fund. The whole steem community tried to stop him from taking control of steem and they somehow became able to do so for a while.
So, there was a tension going on about the governance of steem blockchain which ended yesterday when ‘Hive’ came to live as an alternative to steem blockchain.
So I am taking this opportunity to write a post after a long time to discuss that what platform or blockchain you should use, if you still haven’t been able to figure it out yet. But before I dive into this discussion, let me declare one thing which is that whatever I am going to say to you in this discussion is just my personal opinion. I am not trying to take any sides or trying to tell anyone what they must do. I am just offering my suggestion and whether or not you are going to follow it, completely depend on you.
The rebirth of Steem and all the positive changes we are going to see
I know that it is in fact, sad to see that the community is getting divided and a part of it is moving on a new blockchain.
But still there is a positive side of it because from now on we will be able to see new people participating in the steem governance as the old witnesses have decide to leave.
So now, we are going to see a shift of power on steem blockchain as there will be a new set of witnesses who will be working along with the Steemit.Inc. This will create a new ground for improvement. So those of you who are thinking that steem will get lost into oblivion may feel a little bit better now.
I know that Justin Sun doesn’t have a positive image among the blockchain communities and I am not a supporter of him. Still, I would like to say that if anyone wants to stay on steem then it is better for him or her to support Justin Sun.
I know that there is a fear among us that the steem price will be going down below our expectation but somehow the opposite of that can happen too. But most likely, as the old members of steem are dumping steem now, the price is supposed to go down for a while.
Hive is the ghost of steem and it has a long road to go ahead
I love to be a part of Hive and I consider the people on Hive as my family. Still, what we have to consider is that there is nothing new about it. It has the same old witnesses, same old members and same old whales. Everyone who had a large stake on steem has a large stake on Hive too because we got the same amount of Hive which we had as steem or steem power.
Now, this is a fact to worry about because we got all the good parts of the old steem community but there is a negative aspect of it too. We have the same enthusiasm, same spirit and same sense of unity among us but at the same time we have the same syndicate in control of our blockchain.
So there is no room for a shift of power in Hive. What we have to rely on is the trust between us; I mean between the members and its witnesses.
But even though, we have the old community, old witnesses, some of the old developers and the old Dapps, still what we need to consider is that we have a long road ahead and during our journey through this road we have to stay united as we are now. We have to learn from our old mistakes and create something bigger than steem, if we want to prove we have built something better than steem.
Why should we choose one and why does it matter?
Now I know there are some of us who would like to belong to both communities, even a while ago I was thinking of using the both but then I remember that even though we can use both, still we can’t pay the same amount of attention to both communities. It is because ‘Hive’ needs us now and ‘Hive’ has become our home.
Steem is no longer governed by our elected witnesses as it is now being controlled by the witnesses who are mostly nominated by Tron Foundation or Justin Sun. So, even if we forget about the incident of hostile takeover and censorship being imposed on steem still we are going to witness many major changes which we may not want or expect to see.
For example, if the power down rule gets changed to three days then it may affect the potential investors who came to steem with long team goals and visions and at the same time, imposing censorship can affect the process of keeping steem decentralized.
even if you choose to stay on steem, you have to decide once again how committed should you be to the steem blockchain and what will be the return of your commitment? How secured is your investment on steem and what will be the price of steem in the future if everyone keep moving away from it.
Conclusion
I know that we all have a lot of memories on steem blockchain. By becoming a part of steem blockchain we came across many people with whom we have established lifelong friendship but the time has changed and we are no longer in control of steem. So what we can do now is to keep our investment secured and move on to a blockchain where our friends and community members belong.
We can still stay on steem and try to build new friendship but our priority should be building our own community first, then we can focus on steem and see how it is doing under the new leadership.
Long time no see.
I'll try to be active on both with focus on hive.

Hello,my friend,it has been really a long time.Like, more than a year. How is the situation in your place?I hope you are fine.Yeah, being active on both can be good decision for now as we are seeing a lot of changes that we are not feeling comfortable with yet.
Yeah,it has been a long time. How is everything in your place?I hope you are fine.Being active on both is a good decision if are not ready or willing to leave the steem yet.
I will try to take advantage of what is left on steem in hopes that we can keep it going and on to better days. I will also use hive as applicable to spread my projects.
#SteemOn
That is a clever decision as many people left, now you will have more room to grow on steem. At the same time, you can use Hive to expand your activities.I think you will earn more from steem too as there will be more money to grab from the reward pool. Best wishes for you.
Same too you. I wish you the best and hope you find your way and #SteemOn.
