The HIVE Titanic is Sinking as the Honeymoon Begins to Wind Down

in #hive5 years ago

Lately, I've been watching the numbers for the Social DApps over at State of the DApps. PeakD tops the list, although it only registers roughly 1,000+ daily users, followed closely by Hive Blog who also has a 1,000+ daily users. And in 3rd place, our beloved Steemit who interestingly enough has 1,700+ daily users. This is nothing new though; even before the HIVE High Council boarded their Titanic, our social network roughly held this same number of active users.

But I thought the Steemit users were jumping ship in mass? This is what the HIVE minions are proclaiming; in fact, this was the hope and the plan! But it doesn't seem to being going down like that. What the HIVE High Council, and their fanatical lackeys, are failing to consider, is that most Steemians who are participating in the HIVE fiasco, are simply collecting extra tokens from both sides, and waiting to see who hits the iceberg first... and sinks! If Steemians were really leaving Steemit, the numbers should have inverted, showing 1,000 less daily users, but this is not the case. The Steemit users have remained, and the HIVE High Council continue duping themselves, and their hardcore true-believers, with the very mirage they have created!

The HIVE token continues to sink in price and rank
The HBD can't seem to get its head above water

And far worse, as I predicted in Honeymoon in the Honeycombed HIVE, the Newlyweds over at HIVE are beginning to complain that things are not as rosy as they had been promised they would be.

The closer we get to the end of that 13 weeks power down period, the clearer the real horizon will become for everyone.

People will probably only believe it once they see it. Can't blame them though. The force of repetition was immense during the days of the HF, people were overloaded with the same information over and over. (Almost) everyone seemed to agree, while in fact it were the same bunch of people agreeing with the same bunch of people, on every post.

(De)centralization was never the real problem with Steemit. People being more money oriented than social oriented was and is. Hive is not doing better in that department.

That said, if people are really happy with Hive, then be happy with Hive. Spread that love to others, stay away from trolling others who feel the same way, just about another platform.

Bring a spark to what you love.

I couldn't agree with you more; and I have made similar arguments in my posts. They have only transferred their mindset from Steem to HIVE.

As for the 13-week Power Down, I'm already seeing funds moving in both directions, but there is more HIVE going to STEEM. People are not waiting for 13 weeks to pass because they are taking advantage of the price of HIVE being close to STEEM before the HIVE token tanks. STEEM is also having more funds coming in from the new Witnesses. Remember that part of a Witness' responsibility is to keep the SBD at $1, which the HIVE High Council failed to do when they were here, and are failing to do with the HBD.

I think is not as bad. It's just too quiet.
Maybe they're preparing a new HF and some changes.

These are the same people who were clueless as to how to improve Steem; they have only taken the same mentality to HIVE, and will argue over the same useless points that did nothing to make Steem or Steemit better.
