The "New Steem" Is Called "Hive" And It's Launching In Two Days
As I was writing a couple a days ago, a part of the Steem stakeholders are moving forward with a new chain - and I'm joining them. The official announcement can be found here:

TLDR:
new name is hive, that will also be the name of the token(s): Hive, Hive Backed Dollars and Hive Power
all users will receive an "airdrop", basically, you will have the same balance you had on Steem at the moment of fork. After that, the two balances will diverge, based on your activity on each chain
there are "some" modifications regarding the "malicious", ninja-mined stake. As far as I understand, this stake will be removed in the new chain. As the source code will become available for review, I will know (and share) more
Brace for impact.
It all depends on the strategy of all the dApps. Community will follow their preferred apps. I'm still waiting to see what steem-engine will decide to do...

Salut, am scris si mai devreme ca merg inainte. Nu cred ca pot sa pun resurse (ca witness) pentru ambele blockchain-uri, asa ca voi fi, ca witness, pe hive. Ce se va intampla pina la urma, ce blockchain va "castiga", si ce blockchain "va muri", ramane de vazut.
Ok super... in cazul asta am sa te votez ca Witness pe Hive!😉

Sir please explain 😁. After the snapshot we will get the same amount of Hive/Hive Power according to Steem holdings? What happens with my Steem after I get the snapshoted Hive?
As far I can see your steem will not be affected and you will have 2 accounts both with the same balances which will is kinda sweet tbh

It's basically a new fork, with a few minor changes, it's the same codebase and can access old content, etc

I've been reading through many comments related to new hive chain and I've seen your comment too. Many users are being torn, however majority seem to be moving to new hive.
Are you fully moving there or will you stay on both chains? Just curious. I'm trying to figure out what to do myself.
I moved to Hive because many parts of this place were toxic (which doesn't mean that Hive itself can't become toxic too, at some point in the future). From what I saw, it's a good place to be now.
Do whatever works for you, don't let yourself influenced.
