Jetzt, wo viele Familien vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt worden sind und Bildung Zuhause machen müssen, bin ich gefragt worden, wie wir Profis das tun und welche Tipps wir haben. "Wir", das sind Eltern, die das beruflich machen, auch ohne dafür bezahlt zu werden.

Hier ist meine Antwort:

Wir machen Homeschooling seit wir Eltern geworden sind. Das sind jetzt rund 13 Jahre (schwanger werden mal nicht wieder zu vergessen!). Ich studierte damals bereits sozialwissenschaftlich und bemerkte, dass Lernen nicht so funktioniert, wie es einem vom Kindergarten bis zur Universität noch immer stets implizit beigebracht wird - Stichwort "Versteckter Lehrplan" von John Taylor Gatto. Darin geht es um Dinge - wie manche "versteckte" Gewohnheit beim Lehren - die weit mehr schlechten Einfluss haben, als all die Bildungsziele je wieder gut machen können, mit denen üblicherweise lautstark geworben wird, oder gegen die gar bis aufs Blut verteidigt wird.

Da hat sich dann im Verlauf der Zeit bei uns viel "reformiert", ohne dass wir dafür um Erlaubnis fragen mussten. Und so kamen wir vom Unterrichten weg, noch bevor wir dem kleinen Baby das Laufen beigebracht hatten, und sind auf andere Formen des Aufwachsens aufmerksam geworden. Sehr inspirierend dabei ist noch immer die Zeit des GWS-Magazins (Growing without schooling) von John Holt.

Corona stiftet bei unserem Lebensstil bereits jetzt schon nur wenig Verwirrung, soweit es Lernen und Betreuung betrifft. Klar, jetzt haben alle möglichen Leute hunderte Fragen und man weiß gar nicht, wo man anfangen kann, die alle auch nur im Ansatz zu beantworten - und nebenher vielleicht noch zusätzlich auf "neue Freunde" aufzupassen. Das Aufpassen ist jedoch nur sehr bedingt möglich, da wir inzwischen teilweise als Nomaden leben. Das bringt jedoch auch wieder zusätzliche Flexibilität, da unsere Mobilität nun zwar national eingeschränkt ist, jedoch nicht prinzipiell. Derzeit hängen wir in Mitteldeutschland fest und machen das Beste draus.

Ich hab zwei Tipps für jene, die Eltern werden oder es satt sind:

1. Höre nicht auf, deine Fragen zu stellen, bevor du Antworten gefunden hast, die dir weiter helfen. Setze deine Maßstäbe dabei selbst!

2. Suche Freiräume, um Pausen zu machen und (auch) über deine Fragen nachzusinnen. Im besten Fall gelingt dies dank anderer Familienmitglieder. Und wenn das nicht ausreicht, siehe Tipp 1.

3. Sei nett, wenn sich mal jemand nicht an das hält, was sie oder er zuvor gesagt hat. Das könnte dir auch schon passiert sein und du hast es vielleicht nicht mal gemerkt.

4. Versuche nicht, zuhause Schule zu imitieren! Mach stattdessen lieber mal wieder ein paar tippfehler und lass auch mal ein paar Satzzeichen weg Wer sich sehr für den Inhalt interessiert dem ist die Form nicht so whicitg - und vlileihcet gnaeu aenrds huerm acuh

Now that many families have been faced with a fait accompli and have to do education at home, I have been asked how we professionals do it and what tips we have. "We" are parents who do it professionally even without getting paid.

Here's my answer:

We've been doing homeschooling since we became parents. That's about 13 years now (not again forgetting about getting pregnant!). I was already studying social sciences at that time and noticed that learning does not work the way it is still implicitly taught from kindergarten to university - keyword "hidden curriculum" by John Taylor Gatto. This is about things - like some "hidden" habits in teaching - that have far more bad influence than all the educational goals that people usually vociferously advertise or even defend to the hilt.

In the course of time, a lot of things have been "reformed" within us without us having to ask for permission. And so we got away from teaching, even before we had taught the little baby to walk, and became aware of other forms of growing up. Still very inspiring is the time of John Holt's GWS (Growing without schooling) magazine.

Corona already only causes little confusion in our lifestyle as far as learning and care is concerned. Sure, now all sorts of people have hundreds of questions and you don't know where to start to answer them all - and maybe even watch out for "new friends" additionally. However, additional care is only possible to a very limited extent, since we are now partly living as nomads. But this also brings additional flexibility again, since our mobility is now nationally restricted, but not restricted in principle. Currently we are stuck in central Germany and make the best out of it.

I have two tips for those who are becoming parents or are fed up with it:

1. Don't stop asking your questions until you find answers that will help you along. Set your own standards in this!

2. Find freedom to take breaks and (also) reflect on your questions. In the best case, this will succeed thanks to other family members. And if that is not enough, see tip 1.

3. Be nice if someone doesn't stick to what she or he said before. This could have happened yourself and you might not even have noticed.

4. Do not try to imitate school at home! Instead make a few typos and leave out a few punctuation marks For those who are very interested in the content the form is not taht ipomartnt - and mabye jsut the oehtr way arnuoud
