Sunday League Futsal Week 13

We scored 11 goals today. Lads, can you believe it? 11! It's the first time we've ever scored so many in a single game. Just last week, we lost our group stage match, putting us in a tough position. Tonight's game was a must-win for us, but that wasn’t all. We needed to win by a margin of at least four goals to qualify on goal difference.

Everyone knew how high the stakes were, and we came out determined to give it everything we had. And not only did we rise to the challenge, but we completely smashed it, exceeding all expectations.

There was no room for casual behavior tonight. If you've followed my previous football posts, you'll know how laid-back some of my teammates can be, showing up at the last minute, smoking, and generally not taking things seriously. But tonight was different. Noor Bhai, our coach, kept us on edge, making sure we were all on our best behavior. He fielded the strongest lineup we had, ensuring that every player was ready to give their all.

As for me, I was entrusted with a crucial role. Over the past few weeks, I've transitioned from playing as a midfielder to becoming a winger, operating mostly on the flanks. Tonight was no exception. Although I started on the right wing, I was given the freedom to switch between the right and left sides, depending on the strategy. This flexibility allowed me to adapt to the game and play to my strengths.

While I do prefer playing on the left wing—since it gives me the chance to cut inside and take shots at goal with greater ease—playing on the right isn't something I mind either. Each position brings its own set of challenges and opportunities, but the key to my performance tonight was my speed and stamina. Over time, both have improved significantly, and they were crucial factors in my ability to contribute effectively to the game.

We scored twice within the first twenty minutes, but then conceded a goal in the 33rd minute. It was a stunning strike from the opposition, and there was little we could do to stop it.

However, that goal ignited a fire in us, and we responded with even more determination. By the end of the game, we had scored nine more goals. While the first few goals came from excellent teamwork, the last ones were simple tap-ins.

It felt like the opposition lost their hope after conceding the fifth goal. Once we were up 5-1, the game became noticeably easier for us.

Though I’m not a fan of such tactics, we started to toy with our opponents. We passed the ball around freely, wearing them down and draining their stamina before sending in long balls for easy tap-ins to finish the job.

Here's a video of a Ronaldo chop which I executed on the opponent:

We have qualified into the next rounds and I'm sure the opposition that we'll be facing will be coming in with their best strategies and best players but that doesn't scare me. What scares me are my own players who tend to take things lightly sometimes 🥹🥹

Thanks man

You wanted to break your opponents waist with such dribbling skills. You didn’t even take pity on him that he is someone’s son. If I was in his shoes, I would avoid till the match is over.

Now that they know what is at stake, I believe they will take it more serious. For me, the next team will be the one even afraid of your team, after trashing your opposition with 11 goals.

This guy trash talked a lot. I specifically did that chop on him
