You need to know that in my country Indonesia football is the most popular sport, almost all parts of the region in Indonesia consisting of 38 provinces have football clubs of all ages. But the factor of Human Resources who are unable to compete in the branch of football and less serious in fostering football, became the biggest factor we faced for decades. Not to mention the problem of coaching that is always related to the interests of the group (nepotism), so that the existing potential is out of competition by these interest factors.

But our dream as a big nation and a fanatical supporter base in every region, makes Indonesia dream that one day we can be one of the Asian representatives who appear in the World Cup, a big tournament that is the dream of many countries, especially our Indonesian nation.

So far no country in Southeast Asia has been able to penetrate the World Cup finals, except Indonesia in 1938 in France, even our country is still called the Dutch East Indies and has not been fully independent. On that basis, it looks like this year will be our best year to achieve our goal of appearing in the World Cup, the opportunity looks great because we are currently the only Southeast Asian representative who is still struggling in qualifying for the 3rd round of the Asian zone that has entered the second match.

In the first match against the host Saudi Arabia, unexpectedly Indonesia can hold Saudi Arabia to a draw with a score of 1-1, having previously been superior first in the first half. This result makes Indonesia confident enough to start the second match which will be held in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The opponent that Indonesia will face is another strong team, who else but Australia is also a World Cup subscription country. The class of Australian football on paper is far from what Indonesia has, even in every match with Australia we very often suffer considerable losses in every game.

From the history that has happened, Indonesia and Australia have faced each other in the international arena as many as 15 times starting from 1967. Statistics record, Indonesia has only won 2 times, 4 draws, and 12 defeats against Australia.

Here are the results of 15 meetings from 18 meetings that have occurred :

On paper, Indonesia is far behind its level with Australia, but seeing a style of play that is much different from before, nothing is impossible in football. Indonesia is believed to be able to provide resistance, even presenting a surprise if Australia is not vigilant.

Looking at the results of the match a few days ago, maybe Indonesia will maintain a one-two-touch style of play with a counterattack in a 5-4-1 formation. While Australia, who unexpectedly lost dramatically in the first match against Bahrain, is predicted to attack but still be careful.

This match will be an exciting match, on the one hand, Indonesia wants to win in front of its support and reap the first victory. On the other hand, Australia does not want to be humiliated as a big team that has suffered its first defeat in the opening match of the qualifying round to the 3rd Asian zone.

I as an Indonesian citizen would like to see our favorite team reap good results by winning, this would be a good step if it managed to beat Australia. And of course will keep the chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup as big as possible, a hope that will continue to be kept until it is really real.

With the support of tens of thousands of supporters in Indonesia who can become the 12th player, this looks not impossible. In the end, the struggle is still long and hope is still very wide open.

Thank you to all of you who have read this post, Sports greetings and best wishes to all of you.
