Hello, fellow Sports Enthusiasts,

The BBL or Big Bash League is one of the most popular and prestigious T20 cricket leagues based in Australia. Season 14 of the tournament has been ongoing from 15 December 2024 to 27 January 2025. I also regularly shared exciting updates in the last season, so it's time to do that this year too. Brisbane Heat who had a crazy all-around performance are the defending champions.

So, 08 teams are clashing for glory with a lot of excitement. Anyway, as the BGT Test series, Super Smash, Bangladesh Premier League, SA20, and International League T20, are all happening at once, we can see less international participants this time.

  • First I will share the team details.

  • The price pool is AU$ 1 million, a bit higher than the last season. Winners, Runner-ups, Semi-Finalists, Fifth Place, Player, batsman, baller, and young player of the Tournament will be awarded.

  • There will be 44 matches this season over 43 days; 40 league matches, Qualifier, Knockout, Challenger, and Final. Currently, 23 games are finished in the first stage, and here's what the points table looks like.

  • Sydney Sixers who were the runners-up in the last season continue their form, being the table toppers. We saw the first hundred of the season by sixer's player James Vince against Melbourne Stars.

On the other hand, Ben Dwarshuis is leading their balling department as the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

  • On the other hand, Sydney Thunders who was the last, has come a long way to be in second place so far. It's good to see some form from David Warner once again.

  • There were already some memorable knocks and performances from the players. James Vince and Mitchell Owen scored two centuries. There were a few four wickets occasions, and Xavier Bartlett's 4/10 against Melbourne Stars is the best balling so far.

  • The best match so far for me is the 22nd match between, Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Thunder. Scorchers started the batting and they put a total of 177/4. with a blistering known from Finn Allen.

Thunders lost an early wicket, but Warner and Gilkes set an 89-run partnership for the second wicket. After that, Scorchers came back with some quick wickets and controlled balling. Sherfane Rutherford held his nerve from one side and carried the inning at the inning. 21 needed off 7 balls, and in the last ball of the 19th, Hugh Weibgen smashed a six which was the game-changer.

15 needed off the last over against Andre Tye. With a penalty for a slow-over rate, one more fielder came to the 30-yard circle. With that chance, Rutherford hit 3 boundaries and won the match in the last ball.

  • So, there is almost half of the season yet to come and who are you betting on?
