There's no perfect method to become the best writer. When I first started as a content writer, I ended up confusing myself with all the research that I did because each writer will insist that theirs was the best process for writing good content. If you have to follow the method or process of every successful writer, you would be confused. Discover the person that resonates with you and follow up on them.
Your first job as a content writer is to produce relevant, compelling, and engaging content that readers can comprehend and relate to, if not, you may as well be writing for yourself.

How do you get started as a content writer?

1. 𝑾𝑹𝑰𝑻𝑬: The goal of becoming a good content writer is to write. You must desire to get across your audience via writing.

2. 𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑨 𝑪𝑶𝑼𝑹𝑺𝑬. Fortunately, there are free online courses you can now take to pace the way for you in content writing. With these courses, you can discover what you want out of your career.

3. 𝑮𝑨𝑰𝑵 𝑬𝑿𝑷𝑬𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑵𝑪𝑬. You can start gaining experience by volunteering as a content writer for brands and companies and applying for internships. With time and the experience gained, you become more skilled and confident to carry out a job.

4. 𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑶𝑽𝑬𝑹 𝒀𝑶𝑼𝑹 𝑵𝑰𝑪𝑯𝑬: Don't write on random subjects. Niche is a specialized topic that you write more on. It could be 2 or more topics but not more than 5 so that you don't end up confusing your readers. It would be confusing to see an expert in Relationships and finance suddenly write about real estate and legal matters. Stick to one.
   If you don't know which area to focus on as a newbie, write motivational content, and write content on your daily activities and experience. Use storytelling to captivate your readers. Tell stories they can relate to.

5. 𝑩𝑼𝑰𝑳𝑫 𝑨𝑼𝑻𝑯𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑻𝒀. Build a presence on social media. Become an authority that people can refer to when they need your services. You can have multiple social media accounts; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Or you can build a presence on one and leverage it.

6. 𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑨 𝑷𝑳𝑨𝑵: Plan how your content would go. Daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly. Understand your target audience, and how you get across to them with your content.

7. 𝑩𝑬.𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑺𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑻. Read up. Build your writing career.

8. 𝑭𝑹𝑬𝑬𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑪𝑬. Find jobs: Reach out to brands and companies via cold email. Propose to be their content writer. Find jobs on LinkedIn, Upwork, PeoplePerHour, Indeed.com, etc.

9. 𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑪𝑯 𝑶𝑼𝑻 to other content writers: Don't be a lone house. Network with other writers. Collaborate on jobs, ask questions and discover how they succeed in their field.
