How to cut and sew an overlap free gown payout 10% to steemskillshare
Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I want to guide us on how we can cut and sow this lovely simple gown
measurement
shoulder | 16 |
---|---|
shoulder bust | 10 |
shoulder under bust | 13 |
bust | 36 |
under bust waist | 28 |
gown hip point | 27 |
hips | 38 |
gown length | 38 |
sleeve length | 24 |
round sleeve | 11 |
First step
Fold the fabric into two and place it on the table use measurement tape place and mark the length with extra two inches in front and three inches at the back the extra one inch at the back is for pulling to the front then mark the points,i.e, the should bust point, shoulder underbust, hip piont. Stay on those point and place the accurate measurement with extra 4inches ie( two inches to the normal measurements and extra two inches for allowance making it 4inches)since it is a free gown.
Second step
Since it is a gown worn like a suit,it is going to
have an overlap at the front and would be worn with a belt for fittings.
Third step
For the neck I took 2half by 7 then mark slantly for a v neck, since it is an overlap the bust won't be open and the back 3 by 1 .
Fourth step
To sow join both shoulder and then use bell bridal to extend as a band infront,so that it will be able to overlap well
Fifth step
The fifth step is the sleeve ,measure the length of the sleeve,I still use the bell bridal as a band then attach it to the dress.
Your beautiful gown is ready with a belt to keep it fitted and it can be worn either with a sneaker or heel for a traditional ceremony or just a normal ankara-casual
Thank you so much for going through my post.
