Banner Design Contest

I was very seriously looking for this type of contest for a long time and finally, I found it here at Steem Skillshare Community.

My company Print Skill is in the business of Graphic Design since 2009 and we are providing services to many reputed clients in our region.

Application or Software I Used For Making Design

I use Corel for my graphic design-related project work. A vector graphics editor CorelDRAW is developed and marketed by Corel Corporation. It is also the name of the Corel graphics suite, which includes a bitmap photo editor-Corel Photo-Paint and other graphics-related programs.

The latest version is marketed as CorelDraw Graphics Suite 2021, and it came to the market in March 2021. CorelDraw is designed for the purpose of editing two-dimensional images such as banners, logos, and posters and is available for Windows and macOS.

My Work For This Contest

As per the instruction for this contest, I have created a banner to invite people to learn graphic design for free at this Steem Skillshare Community.

So, based on the theme, I have created this banner. I hope the community will like my design and I will be happier if our member shares their feedback for this work.

Explaining the Work Process

First of all, I opened my application CorelDraw 7.0 and select a "New" file option under the File menu. My default canvas selection is A4. With this application, we can easily convert our images to any size we want. So, I initially started with an A4 size canvas.

I needed a logo of Steem Skillshare Community to use for this contest. So, I tried to find them but I was not satisfied with the quality of the logo I downloaded from the internet. So, I need to improve its quality and resolution.

So, I placed the downloaded logo into CorelDraw canvas and then I select the "Trace" command under the Bitmaps menu. Tracing should be done under the Detailed logo function. There are many options for tracing. But for the best result, we will trace it with a Detailed Logo.

I used "Shape Tool" (F10) to correct traced logo by selecting and moving each node of the logo objects in the right position that matches the original logo.

It's maybe very hard for newbies, but after practice and experience, one can do it correctly.

But, it needs so much passion and curiosity to complete the task. Because you have to set many nodes in the right position to give the logo an original look.

Then I give the title to the banner in two-part. I am using Shree-Lip 7.1 Application Fonts for which I have purchased a paid license software to use it. For the title, I used the SHREE-ENG7-0452 font type.

To give Black+Red color share, I used Fountain Tool under Edit Fill menu (F11). I selected Linear type fountain fill for the title.

Creating Vector of Free in Logo

So, to create a Vector of Free, I draw 4 squares using the "Rectangle Tool" (F6). Then, I select the Fill tool (F11) to fill color and its shades. I selected Rectangle Fountain Fill under the Edit Fill option to give a shade of colors. As you can see in the screenshot attached here.

Placed a Circle filled with white color using Ellipse tools (F7) in each square to look like a hole and then attached it with a line so that the vector looks like a hanging square.

Logo Complete 4.png

Draw A Pencil Shape Vector

To draw a Pencil Shape vector, as you can see in the final banner. I draw different shapes as you can see in the above screenshot. Colored them separately with a white border using "Outline Pen (F12)" 4 pt white border given to each object.

I arrange and move each object as you see in the previous screenshot in the right position that the final vector looks like as above.

Finalization of Banner

After all editing and vector designs, I moved and placed all the vectors, texts, lines, logos in the right position to give the banner a final touch.

Finally, as we all know It's for Steemit Community, I need to place the Steemit logo in the banner. So, I downloaded png image from google. Insert it in canvas and convert it into objects by tracing tools to obtain the highest resolution and then placed it in the banner.
