One of the advantages of using an Android smartphone is the ability to expand it storage.
The use of micro SDcard has become common in the world today base on the fact that the storage of our phone sometimes cannot contain most of our files and data,hence the need for a storage expansion chip is essential.

And like they say, nothing last for ever, sometimes this SD cards might end up crashing or even developing certain fault.
This is relatively justified, because fault is prone to happen and occur in any technology product or appliance.

And when this happens,many of us tend to feel devastated because we fear we might lost all the important files and documents in the SDcard,but that is not entirely true.

If you have been having issues with your micro SDcard or your SDcard has being corrupted due to some things,not to worry,I have decided to make this post as a guide to enlightening you on how to fix the corrupted SDcard.

I will be highlightening some simple fixes to try in repairing a crashed or corrupted SDcard.

HOW TO FIX CORRUPTED OR CRASHED SD CARDS

•PHYSICALLY CLEAN THE SD CARD
This is the very first thing to do once you discover that your SD cards has stopped working.

Carry out a physical cleaning on the SD card,this is because particle of dust and dirty that have sticked and hidden in the cracks of the SD cards might be the reason why the SD card stopped working from time to time or got corrupted.

Cleaning the SD card of these dust and particles sometimes might be the simple solution to solving this issue.
You can carry our the cleaning by

•Firstly removing the SDcard from your mobile device.

•Make use of alcohol base solution,nail Polish removal to clean and scrub the SD Card,make sure to gently scrub those gold pin at the back of the SD card to remove dirt and dust from surface.

Wait for the SD card to dry up and then insert it back into your phone,It is sure going to work this time if the problem affecting it has to do with dust and dirt on the SD card surface.

•FORMAT THE SD CARD
If unfortunately your SD card is detected by your smartphone but you still can't access certain file and documents on the SD card,that implies that your SD cards is contaminated and host certain files containing malware such as virus and worms that has corrupted it.

To solve this kind of issue,the memory card needs to be formated to be useful again, although all files will be lost,but atleast the memory card will be useful again.

You can format the SDcard on your smartphone by simply going to your mobile phone settings,select storage and click on Erase SDcard option to clear all data on the SDcard card.
Confirm the action of deleting all the data present in the SDcard and wait for it to be carried out.
Doing this will solve the problem on the SD card.

•CHECK COMPATIBILITY
Most time the SD card may not be corrupted or crashed like we think.
The problem might just be compatibility.
Some SDcard are designed to work on certain device and not on other devices.

If an SDcard doesn't work or isn't recognize by your phone,you should try other smartphone that is different from yours and if eventually it works,them the problem is compatibility.

Making use of SDXC version of SDcard that is designed for higher transfer speed for your older Android phone might not work because they are not compatible.
Try making use of SD cards that is compatible with your device.

•SD CARD DIAGNOSIS USING PC
If unfortunately the formatting method didn't solve the problem then you might want to run a quick diagnosis on the SDcard using a computer with diagnostic tools to trace where the error lies and then fix them.
This is the last resort and the most effective.

You can carry out this operation by simply

•Connecting your smartphone with the SDcard intact to a computer using a USB cable.

•When the notification of connect pops up after connecting the phone to the computer,See to it that you selected MSC (mass storage mode) instead of MTP (media transfer mode).

•Lauch your computer window explorer and right-click on the SD card drive that appears on the screen.

•Select Property-Tool-Error-Checking from the menu options that appear next and wait for the computer to fix and update the error and software of the card that is causing it not to work or to crash.
