Arabic is one of the ancient languages which is characterized by its unique syntax and morphology and it is employed in poetry, song, prose writings, stage drama, and so on. It is also the third most spoken language in the world after English and French language. Arabic is generally taught in different place of learning such as nursey schools, primary schools, secondary schools, polytechnics, college of education, universities and other places of learning.

Likewise, it is known to be widely spoken by the 22 countries of the Arab league though some countries such as Somalia and Comoros were not that fluent in Arabic and most of their citizens does not speak Arabic owing to the fact that they have their own indigenous mother’s language and were believed to have joined the league for political reasons.
According to geographical location, Arabic is majorly spoken in Arabian Peninsula, most of the middle east and north African countries which includes the following countries: Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Palestine and the rest of the Arab world with different degrees of dialects.

Furthermore, it is one the six language recognized and acknowledged by the united nations (UN) due to the fact that, it is being widely spoken among different races of people and even some countries adopted it as their second official language till the extent that it was recognized by some west African countries such as Mali and Senegal.

Its writing scripts and some its borrowed words has also been found in some languages though not completely similar such the Pakistani Urdu, Turkish language, Kurdish, Hausa, Kashmiri, Persian among others.

Arabic is believed to be a tribe-specific language and moreover it is written from right to left which is the opposite of English which is writing from left to right. Arabic has 28 letters which resembles that of Hebrew and Aramaic language. It is also believed not contain any vowel letters but this is not true because it contains “Alif’’, “Waw” , “Yaa” which act as long vowels in Arabic pronunciation.

It is sometimes believed that Arabic is a God-chosen language because the holy Quran was revealed in Arabic to prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and also Quran is being used as reference in teaching the language by many Arabic scholars and linguists and as such is the language of not just only the Arabs but every devoted Muslims who are dedicated to Islam.

Moreover, Arabic language seems to be having a lot of acceptance as a lot of people seeks to learn about it in Asia, most of Africa and some part of European continent.

Lastly, Arabic language has undergone a lot transformations right from its pioneer stage and due to a lot dialects being spoken by Arabs up to this modern day classical Arabic which is referred to as “Al-Fushah” (الفصحة)in Arabic language.
