I am talking from Indian perspective. Very few people will actually dare to take a break from their jobs and think about doing things that they would enjoy, like taking a long holiday or taking a break to learn something one enjoys.

Yep. That's a great thought. But the economic condition of more than 80-90% of the population would not allow them to even dare to do so. Most people can't afford life insurance coverage, pay their bills on time.. as such taking a break and explore other opportunities is out of question, I FEEL, if their financial future is not taken care of.

But what you wrote is an important aspect to consider if we are to maximize the productivity of India's human resource.
