Plant Body: Roots, Leaves, Flowers, Reproduction, Xylem and Phloem
In this video I go over how plants are divided into root and shoot systems. The root system anchors the plant and absorbs water and nutrients, while the shoot system includes stems, leaves for photosynthesis, and flowers for reproduction. Shoots consist of phytomers which are units containing nodes, leaves, internodes, and buds. The shoot system also features specialized structures like stamens for pollen production and a gynoecium for ovule production, crucial for plant reproduction. Lastly, the vascular system, with its xylem and phloem, ensures the transportation of water, minerals, and nutrients throughout the plant.
