PLASTIC BOTTLE CAMPIGN DOWN THE TOWN OF MULANG

,The Greens Organization partner with Bright Light Association Team to reduce plastic pollution in the mulang wetlands. It was such an insightful experience as different talks were given about our environment and how better to dispose of our plastic waste. Going further, we discussed strategies that will be used to sensitize the society on the damage caused by plastic pollution and ways to manage this plastic materials.
The Greens Organization , alongside Bright Lights Association Team, successfully recovered over 1,500 plastic bottles from the river. It is estimated that there are over 1 million plastic bottles in the entire Mulang Wetland area, which is the main wetland area in the city of Bamenda.
During this campaign , The Greens Organization educated the local population on the harmful impacts of plastic pollution. They emphasized that we are the primary cause of this issue and highlighted the dangers of burning plastic, which contributes to climate change. The organization provided practical tips on proper plastic disposal at home to prevent further pollution.
The population of Mulang was indeed grateful for this great initiative that has been carried out in their community. Members of the community shared their experiences and challenges with plastic pollution and promised to collaborate for the next plastic campaign. This collaboration aims to ensure maximum sensitization on plastic pollution in their society.

At the conclusion of this impactful event, The Greens Organization, Bright Light Association, Togther with the local community extended an invitation to more stakeholders to join the next plastic removal campaign. Future efforts will include the use of plastic shredders and washing equipment to enhance the efficiency of the cleanup process and facilitate the transportation of collected plastic to recycling facilities.
This campaign marks a significant step towards a cleaner, healthier environment in Mulang and serves as a call to action for continued community involvement and broader stakeholder participation in combating plastic pollution.
