#club75 | Seeking the Holy Spirit : Sharing my Little Experience
Good evening guys. Today I will be talking on spirituality. Spirituality is a very interesting topic that always catches our attention. Many people around the world have different perspectives on spirituality and the interpretation of God's words. Well I am seeking the Holy spirit, one can say I am born again. I made this decision about my life just this month and for this short while that I've been into it, I've been asked alot of questions and I have noticed alot of things.
At this point I'm guessing the first questions on your minds are why I decided to seek the holy spirit. Why I decided to change?
Well we all know that sometimes we tend to think about alot of things when we are at our lowest. Crossing over to this year I had made alot of resolutions for my life. There were a lot of things I had decided to change about my life and that included my spiritual life. Well the year started and I engaged on working on myself but there was one thing I didn't engage in, my spiritual life. I kept on doing what I was doing until something happened. This scenario made me question if there's even a God. If truly he just sits and let's us go through tragedies.
I then took a second thought. I thought about all the blessings I have had in my life. I took a check of all the "good luck" I have seen in my life. I said to myself obviously it's not all by my own doing. There is someone watching us. So I decided to open up to someone more spiritual, a believer. He counselled me and gave me some bible verses to read and meditate on. That's how my journey into a spiritual life started. That's how I started seeking the Holy Spirit.
Like I mentioned above, the subject of spirituality is very intriguing and people always want to know how believers live their lives. They always try to judge you from how you do things and even the slightest mistakes. I'm going to share with you guys some questions that I've been asked within this short period of time.
Are you now dating a Pastor?
This one was actually funny because why will the fact that I'm trying to be a believer mean that I'm in a relationship with some spiritual leader and I'm trying to change for him. The question was so silly.
Why are you walking at night? I thought you said you were a born again.
As in how does the hour of the day determine my faith? To think I was on my way home and someone is asking me that question. Very very bizarre.
You are not supposed to date a guy who isn't a believer.
This one was actually a statement. I was like what?? What happened to evangelism? If I see you are interested in me and I am in you I will tell you about Christ. It's going to be a great joy to bring in a soul.
Those are just the 3 shocking ones. People always want to know and compare so that they can just your spiritual life and tell you how to serve God. For me I say changing is not automatic. Like every sector of life we need time to learn and adapt little by little. Spirituality is not a matter for the weak. Sorry to cut those trying to change some slack.
My journey so far has been fun. I have learned a lot of things. Unlike before, I now fellowship regularly.
I don't know if it's just me but there this inner joy you have when you pray with Faith and believe. I find myself being happy. Very happy just knowing that while I'm taking care of myself and my family here, someone is also taking care of them somewhere.
I have some verses I want to share with you. These are my favorite verses since I started reading the bible.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
Everytime I read this, I have reassurance in my soul that God has plans for me. I just have to wait, pray and have faith.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:31-32 ESV
This one give me a sence of protection and hope. God sacrificed his son that he loves so much for us, goes along way to show that there's no measure to what he can do for us.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
This one lets me know that as far as I pray in supplication and thanksgiving, there should be no fear in my heart. God is in control.
That's my short short story. Hope u enjoyed it and it made you want to seek God a little more. I'm also open to contributions and suggestions.

You have to expect all those questions. But that shouldn't bother you because what God knows about you is more important

Hallelujah! This is the best testimony I've heard so far. It's amazing to serve the Lord. I encounter those questions everyday and everytime. Some ask if I'm a pastor, even mockingly start calling me that but i take all as a prophecy. You should expect all these stones while walking in Jesus.
There's this last question/statement that got me interested.
This statement is 100% correct. You don't date an unbeliever on the basis of evangelizing to him or her. It'll make you to compromise on many things just because emotions are involved. It may shock you that emotions are not part of the fruits of the spirit, instead they mingle with your soul and satisfy the flesh. What I'm conclusively saying is this, Do not be yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath light with darkness.
If you must date, make sure he is a believer, not a church goer but a believer before you go into a relationship. Don't say it's coz you want to evangelize when you too are into him. If not, you guys will end into one another and regretting after.
