Three Unusual Lemon Hacks
Lemons are our go to citrus fruit in the kitchen. But do you know that this wonder fruit is also useful outside of the kitchen? Well, below are three unusual lemon hacks.
1. Hair Lightener
We all know about the brightening and lightening effect of lemon juice. But do you know that lemon juice can be used to lighten hair?
In order to lighten your hair, all you need is to mix some lemon juice and clean distilled water in a spray bottle. Then, spray your hair with it. To enjoy the full effects, sit outside under the sun for the lightening to really work.
Depending on how light you want your hair to be, do this often till you get desired results. But take note that although this is a natural way to lighten your hair, lemons can have a drying effect. So take note to moisturize your hair more often.
2. Get rid of foul odours
Ever been working with onions or garlic? I have and trust me, the smell just clings to everything. I remember trying to follow an onion and garlic hair treatment once. It had a lot of good reviews.
But good Lord, the smell clings on your hands and in your hair and refuse to come out no matter how many times you wash and rinse the hair.
What will you say if I told you that lemons can remove the smell? Well it can. All you need is to mix the lemon juice with some water and use it to do a rinse.
3. Hand Softener
Do you guys know that lemons can be used to soften your hands? Our hands harden with constant use and hard work. But there's a way to regain the softness of our nice hands.
In order to do this, put some sugar on your hands, then pour the lemon juice and rub your hands together. When you are done, wash your hands with luke warm water. Then follow up with your favourite moisturiser.
