THE DIARY GAME: HOW DO WE MANAGE OUR HOUSEHOLD WASTE? ?
Hello steemians and welcome to my recent edition of the diarygame. I do hope at the end of this diary we would be able to manage our household waste properly.
Most of what's happening in our communities today as far as climate change is concerned is partly caused by us and our activities.
Last Sunday the 17th of October 2021 wasn't a good one due to floading in my neighborhood. When I went up the street to find out what happened that rain water has accumulated down street where I reside i discovered that students living in a mini cite there dumped their house waste into a gutter and as a result diverted the direction of the run off.
My newly planted crops were destroyed due to the floading water. My neighbors complained of property lost. Their plots were eroded away because the speed of the run off was really high.
All of these could be avoided if neighbors managed their home waste well. It's quite simple ladies and gentlemen! What we all need is to;
- Always separate our waste into those that can decompose from those that cannot so that you can dig up a hole and dump those that can decompose.
- look for a bag and put those waste that can't decay like bottles and plastic containers. When the bag is full, take it to HYSACAM for proper management.
-i used to burnt up all my plastics but was advised by @thegreens that it's not the best method because it would further pollute the environment. And that it should be handed over to HYSACAM for them to better dispose. - don't wait for someone to advise you to take care of the drainage patterns around your area
- we should take care of the environment in which we leave.

What a great write up. The issue in bamenda about waste management is a disgrace even HYSACAM is ashamed too.
What I think is the way forward to manage waste is first change our mentalities and teach our family, neighbors and communities on the importance of managing waste.

Its beautiful to keep our environments clean especially with waste management we should learn to dispose of our waste in proper ways to avoid pollution
