Creative writing contest Vol.20 |CHRISTMAS :what does Christmas mean to you, what are your Christmas wishes and how do you plan on spending this year's Christmas?

Greetings to my beloved steemians .I hope everyone is doing great and also I good health.i will firstly, really love to thank the @thegreens for these great opportunity .

When I was a kid , Christmas always come to me like an excitement, because I knew during that period I will have a new dress,shoes,sucks and sometimes eye glasses .Also because the house will be decorated with shinning flowers and the Christmas tree where my mom will hang sweets and biscuits for us and they always share biscuits in church so I make sure I don't miss church in the morning.To my understanding as a kid, Christmas was the day baby Jesus was born by Joseph and Mary .I always use to have in mind that on the eve before Christmas santa claus will suprise us with gifts because we were told by our eldest brother that in America the kids there are always given gifts,! by Santa Claus(father Christmas) and before you can be given a gift you have to keep food in a hidden place where he will come and eat so that he will be motivated and keep you what ever you wish for and he told us that it most be on Christmas Eve at 12 mid night .so we always use to make sure we wait till 12 so that we will make our wishes and keep the food for the so called father Christmas and little me will always wish for a bicycle but when I get up the next morning I will see nothing and the food still the same so I will ask my brother what happened he will say "may be he did not see the food I kept for him ,"and that will make me sad.i kept on doing it every eve of Christmas untill i realized that all that were lies.

So now to my own understanding , Christmas is celebrated on the 25 December and it is on these day that Christ Jesus the saviour of the world was born and it is celebrated all round the globe .It is also a period were families come together to enjoy and thank God for how great he has been in thier lives and also for me ,it's a period were you get to free yourself from any bondage there by forgiving the once who wronged you and begging for forgive from those you have wronged may be intensional or not there by preparing yourself but spiritually and physically for the coming of the saviour of the world .

During these Christmas period,I wish to become a better person there by having my own job which will help me support my parents with my school needs and also with my personal needs and most especially to learn how to do things by myself and be independent.i also wish that these Christmas comes with alot of blessings in my family so we will have more grace to accomplish our mission on earth.

I am thinking of spending these Christmas with my family .on that day ,we will go to church in the morning , come back ,cook and eat as a family ,then I may go for swimming with my friends and then in the evening we go out and have some fun . after wish I come back home and sleep . And boxing Day continues . thanks alot for making out time to read.May all your wishes be granted.
