Challenges to managing Menstruation every month.

Menstruation to some women have been a taboo especially as they do not have access to products that can help them in managing and running the Menstrual cycle. There are women who have never used a sanitary napkin no pad in their lives. There are other women who are so familiar with using cotton torn dresses or what is normally called pieces to pad themselves. For some women and girls it is already normal to go every month without access to proper menstruation facilities or materials to help them manage their menstrual cycle , while for others it goes on smoothly

Women and girls have considerable difficulty in going about their lives during every month as they face menstruation.This has caused most of them to stay at home due to stigmatisation .
lack of sanitary pads have caused women and girls in remote areas to be absent from work or school because of the difficulty to manage their menstruation while attending school or at work

Out of the understanding of what women and girls go through every month, some groups and individuals have decided to help more women and girls understand their menstrual cycle while making available sanitary pads that are much affordable and very available to. Irrespective of the fact that sanitary pads can always be available for women and girls to use during menstruation, some of them have been faced with the challenge of not having access either to available or the affordable ones. In this case, women are advised to use clean cotton material or towels to hold the menstrual flow and ensure that the different materials are well cleaned ,dried an ironed before being reused.

For my love for womanhood and to help more women have access to information that helps them understand the menstrual cycle better,I have joined efforts with friends in sharing biodegradable ecopads to more young girls in the community.
