Teachers of our leaders

Greetings from my beautiful homeland Cameroon to fellow Steemians all over the globe! I trust you're all having a fantastic weekend.

Yesterday, I had a busy schedule. At 9:00 am, I delivered a speaking engagement at the Government Bilingual Teachers Training College (GBTTC) Kumbo. I arrived early at 8:30 am, and by 9:30 am, the students were assembled. The principal introduced me and encouraged the students to pay close attention. I spoke in my capacity as the manager of the Texas Institute of Public Speaking (TIPS).

For about 20 minutes, I discussed the importance of effective communication in the teaching profession and throughout life. I emphasized that teachers shape the future by educating our future leaders. After my talk, a few students asked questions, which I gladly answered. I then shared my contact information and thanked the administration for the opportunity.

Leaving the school, I visited my kind and insightful mother who owns a provision and cold store nearby. As always, I learned something new during our hour and a half meeting.

On my way home to rehearse for the afternoon workshop, I coincidentally shared a cab with @chant. Thankfully, she helped me out when I realized I didn't have any change for the fare.

Back home, I practiced for 30 minutes before heading to the workshop, which was delayed slightly due to rain. Despite the lower attendance caused by the weather, the workshop was a huge success. Every speaker brought their A-game, incorporating engaging exercises that made the event interactive. Each presentation lasted 25 minutes.

As the last speaker and lead trainer, I presented on "Time Investment" for about 1.5 hours. I highlighted the importance of staying motivated and constantly moving forward, regardless of life's challenges. "Time doesn'thaveyourtime," I emphasized, "even when faced with loss." I encouraged participants to invest their time, not just spend it, by adapting, innovating, and constantly progressing.

Following my presentation, I shared the "prioritization matrix" time management tool discussed in my previous post. A teacher (one of the participants) particularly appreciated this tool, mentioning its perfect timing for her project on the "Effects of Inclusive Education on Learners' Progress." Hearing this made me happy, as my goal is always to connect with and impact at least 2-3 audience members with each presentation. Feeling fulfilled but exhausted, I came home too tired to write a post, hence the delay.

Since this morning, students from GBTTC Kumbo have been reaching out, interested in learning more about the public speaking programs offered by TIPS.

I love my job!

Cheers!✌️
