CREATIVE WRITING | LOVE GOD, BUT FEAR HIM FIRST

Your walk with God is on the premise of Your fear of God and your love for God.
These 2 are not variables but constants in every Christian's life.

While studying I noticed something striking I'll let you know around the last slide. Just follow me closely I won't be long😅

Let's define some terms first! What is the fear of God?
The fear of God is your reverenceand respect for His Holiness, Power and Authority. This is when you acknowledge His supremacy and live in alignment to His will based on your reverence for who He is.
Proverbs 9:10 says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" This scripture is too deep! It means that eh, it is by fearing God that your taking actions according to His will begins. So if you lack direction, check your fear of God not your love for God.

In the old testament, what we saw mostly was the fear of God and it worked amazingly for them. From Abraham to Isaac to Jacob to Joseph, all we see is the fear of God. They never really loved God. But out of the fear of God, they had accurate direction and wisdom to solve situations.

Let's go to love before we come back here

Love for God comes in and I define it as having a deep and personal relationship with God. This one involves your affection, devotion and Intimacy.

In the NT, we see Jesus always admonishing and saying in Mark 12:30 that "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your ind and all your strength" it wasn't for fancy.

Our love for God is on the premise of His character. But many of us have loved God and still have secret sins holding us back. That's simply because we've not defined love correctly
It's amazing to love God, many of us do love God but how many of us do fear him?
You can move God and still have secret sins, love God and do all sort of things. But when you begin to fear Him...

Your walk with God should begin from fear of God and transcend to Love for Him. If not you'll struggle to fear Him. Yes you sacrifice, pay your tithes, give offerings and seeds but do you fear HIM? The healthy and balanced relationship with God is gotten from these 2 things "The reverence of God's Holiness, Power, Authority, Supremacy and the love for His character"

Question yourself why we so much love God in our generation but we don't see what the people of the old testament saw even though we had a promise to do better than them? We don't fear God.

Ask anyman who wrought mighty things in God, these 2 things are found in Him.
Jesus enshrined the fear of God in the love of God. Throughout all His journey, He never said I love the Father! But He ALWAYS said What I see the Father do, I do, I have come to do the works of the Father etc. What didn't He peofess His love for the Father but rather reverenced the Father?

Bro/sis! Your relationship with God begins with the Fear of the Lord and then the love for God. If you check your life and don't find the fear of God, please look for it!
