Agriculture is the art and science of cultivating the soil, growing crops and raising livestock. It includes the preparation of plant and animal products for people to use and their distribution to markets.
Agriculture provides most of the world’s food and fabrics. Cotton, wool, and leather are all agricultural products. Agriculture also provides wood for construction and paper products.
These products, as well as the agricultural methods used, may vary from one part of the world to another.

IMPORTANCE OF AGRICULTURE IN A HOUSEHOLD

It meets up the demand of food and nutrition in a household.

It plays role while a guest is being received in a house.
It creates employment for unemployed family members.
It utilizes properly the leisure period of family members.
It creates opportunity for extra income for a family.
Fertility of agricultural land can be increased by livestock and poultry rearing.

It took me living at my friend's family house in Manton to realise the importance of farming. Most youths run away from farming because they see it as a dirty job but agriculture is very useful and important. It is advisable for people who are unemployed and idle to start farming even around their homes or to have mini gardens that can help to sustain consumption.
This house in Mankon is involve in farming almost everything consumable around the house and in far away farms. Things such as cabbage,

cucumber, yams, corn, beans, sugar cane, paw paw, plumb,

cocoyams, potatoes, groundnuts,

just to name a few. They are also involved in live stock farming.

My friend control most of these things and has her own small farm of cabbage.
They do not use money to purchase food but they never lack food. They are a big family and can always accommodate guest with no problem of food. Money which was to be saved for food is being used for other things such as education in good schools. the farming also brings in income when they decide to sell some produce.

Households that do not involve in farming even around the house spend another on the purchase of food and groceries. I accompanied the family to the farm yesterday to harvest groundnuts and it was so much fun. Farming is fun especially when you people are many of you.

It reminded me of my childhood where we drank water from a spring in a coco leaf and ate different kinds of fruits found in the farm and on the way. Chaii types of mixtures.

I are groundnut worth 2000frs if sold without spending a dime

and I compared it to the boiled groundnuts the sell in a peak milk container for a hundred frs. Its was indeed an amazing adventure. That was my first time in a groundnut farm and I am going back to start my own little garden where I can harvest my tomatoes and spices and save money instead of buying all the time.

To all youths, farming is not only useful, it is fun and can save you a lot of money and help solve hunger problem so you won't ask for "urgent 2k" from anyone😅. You can always bath after going to the farm and still slay as you want.

Hello good evening mam...
This is a great write up about agriculture. Firstly you're a good writer and took your time to explain about agriculture in thousands bof words.
Agriculture is very good as you said and helpful to the world. It is the backbone of many Cameroonians and serves for both local and commercial purposes. I really learnt alot from your write up and truely many people see agriculture as a dirty job, but agriculture will never be extinct. I'm so greatful and honoured to learn more and quality agricultural post from you.
More encouragement to you. Stay safe
