Probably the best FIFA World Cup Final Performance Ever!

What a night it was in Qatar at Lusail Stadium, we witness one of the most memorable FIFA World Cup finals in the history of football. The thrill and twists of the game was just magnificent and unexpected by even both teams and the whole world. The climax Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, the finals match between Argentina and France, a match that go down in history as the greatest FIFA World Cup final in the history of the tournament.

The match started with a spectacular closing ceremony from various artist in Africa and also across the world, a truly world class performance to wrap up the tournament. The teams of Argentina and France then came up to the field to fight for glory in the biggest stage of it all and for the biggest and richest trophy of them all, the World Cup trophy. A trophy that France was looking forward in defending having won it at the last FIFA World Cup at Russia 2018 and were more than determine to defend it once again. And Argentina with their star, a name and man that needs no introduction, Lionel Messi was also looking more than determined to get the trophy for his country as player for it would definitely be his last world cup performance for his country as a player.

The match kicked off at the Lusail Stadium with a spectator attendance of 88966, what massive crowd it was to witness the match. Both Argentine and France supporters in the stadium had great expectations for their teams, and you see it in their colorful and country jerseys and rooting for their country team. The match kicked off in spectacular fashion for the Argentine side who had most of the possession and also more impressive results in attempts. And 23 minutes into the match, their efforts yielded a penalty as the Argentine player Di Maria was brought down by Dembele in the France penalty area and the circumstance was without any doubt a penalty to Argentina. And who else would you like to a penalty rather than the man of moment Lionel Messi, and he made no mistake putting the ball in the back of the net giving Argentina a lead into the finals.

Another moment of counter was seen by the Argentine side in the 36th minute of the game, who made no mistake again but to punish France for their poor defending and it was Di Maria this time who put the ball in the back of the net for Argentina and giving his side a two (2) nil lead before half time. And it was more than clear for the Argentine fans that they are comfortable position to go home with the trophy. They had won it was what seem to be in the mind of all Argentine spectators and possibly every person watching or following the match. Argentina was the better side in the first half with their complete dominance over France who couldn’t even register a shot on target or an attempt at goal.

After a series of changes in the France team after the second half, the French were able to find what was thought to be a consolation goal from a penalty that was conceded in the Argentine defense. And it was the French golden boy Mbappe to do so. And there was just little bit of hope for France in the game, their hands were once more just a finger tip touch on the trophy again with just less than 15 minutes to end of the game, a second was almost impossible. 80 minutes into the game again, France got an equalizer from the Mbappe again to level up with Argentina who thought they had won it clearly after their two-goal lead even after 70 minutes into the game.

And the game was set to go to extra time of 30 minutes to find a winner of the match, a match that took a twist that no one probably expected. The first half of the extra time come to start and ended with no much of action, still 2 – 2 and just another 15 minutes away for it to go to penalties. But there as plenty of action and another late drama in the second half of extra time. When Messi and Argentina gave another lead in the game just about 5 minutes to game over, and it was Argentina 3 – 2 France. A moment of another cheers for the Argentina fans who thought it was theirs from the first half of the game. Then came Mbappe again with another penalty to level on with Argentina 3 – 3, and making him a the first player to get a three goal hat-trick in a FIFA World Cup finals match just 3 minutes away for Argentina to have won it again.

And the game was set for to be decided on penalties shootout between the two teams, an incredible 120 minutes it was in a most memorable face-off at the finals of a FIFA World Cup. And surely the penalties was the real decider of the finals after France missed two of their penalty shots one saved by the Argentine keeper Emilano Martinez and the other played out wide by the French man Tchouemani. Whilst Argentina had all penalties successful at the back of the net to give make them the Champions and winners of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. A moment of glory for Argentina and Lionel Messi who lead his team to this victory and brining a moment of happiness and celebrations for millions of Argentines and even his followers.

A great battle it was today between these two nations, France coming back from a two-goal trail leveling just before 90 minutes of full time and then coming back again from a 3 – 2 trail and leveling just before penalty shootout. But they seem to have braw the short straw on the match at penalties, but they were without a truly worthy opponents to be called champions again and shocked the world with those come back performance. But Argentina was the more optimistic side ho made no mistakes to win the trophy by penalties, and got the glory they so desperately fought for.
