Juicing popularity has continued to grow in the past years and it makes sense since everyone loves juice cause it's not just refreshing but also sweet and electric juicers are now a common kitchen appliance at home. As long as you keep an eye on the excess sugar or calories, drinking fresh juice can be an excellent way to get some minerals and vitamins.

Orange, apple and grape juice is quite common but there are more juices made from "lesser-known" veggies or fruits that are easy to find, make, worth trying and healthy. So let's try to put aside our old boring old and try something new.

1. Beet root;

Honestly, beet roots aren't all that popular maybe since their earthy original or deep red color can put some people off. But then even if you struggle eating it, you can always try drinking instead plus its juice is even healthier than eating it. Beet juice has several health benefits like improving stamina, lowering blood pressure, supporting liver function(due to antioxidant betaine present in it that helps ckeam toxins from the liver) and also reducing inflammation.

Beets are just one of those veggies naturally high in sugar yet it's not all that sweet. Rather, it has an earthy taste that can be improved by adding other fruit juice like apple, carrot etc.

2. Passion fruit;

This fruit tastes just as exotic as it sounds😂😂. Well it has a mildly sweet,tart flavor making it popular for those in the culinary world. It's comes from same vine as the passion flower and is native to South America and to get the juice at home can be a little messy.

The fruit was named in the 17th century by some Spanish missionaries, its name can be translated to the flower of five wounds and it's may be associated with the passion and crucifixion of Christ.

Well all good but it contains a toxin in the pulp that can lead to cyanide poisoning if its consumed in excess. So don't forget to enjoy in moderation.

3. Hibiscus;

Hibiscus has been used many times in folk medicine in various cultures. Hibiscus tea can be made from the dark red flower petals of the plant but can also be used to make a cold refreshing juice.

The drink is high in antioxidants and vitamin C and antioxidants. Hibiscus tea is quite commin in Mexico as a home remedy for menstrual cramps and regulating menstrual cycles. It's also good for cleansing the liver and is good for "hangovers". All you need to do is put the dried petals in hot water to get your hibiscus tea. You can cool and serve with ice to have a refreshing and healthy juice. Oh one thing, did you know the dark red flower used to make fuleri is actually dried hibiscus leaves? So yup, you can use that if you don't want to use fresh leaves.

4. Cucumber;

We all know how spas have been using cucumbers for years as a natural relaxant so if you've enjoyed sometime at a health spa then you might have sipped some cucumber water along with slices of fresh cucumbers used to cover your eyes. These veggies are known for their hydrating properties and it makes sense since they're mostly water. Cucumber juice is a nice way to attain a glowing skin from inside out because they promote healthy skin and are rich in antioxidants.

You can just add a few slices of freshly sliced cucumbers to a jug of H20 or blend them together to get a thicker juice. It flavour is fairly mild and it makes a simple juice on its own, you can also mix well with other veggies or fruits to get a refreshing juice and you can peel off the skin if you want.

5. Pineapple;

Pineapples are a tropical fruit and it's juice can sometimes be readily available in markets. Well, if you decide to make yours own, do well to pick the right pineapple cause juicing an unripe pineapples may be toxic. Once you peel the tough skin and get to the bright yellow inside, you can put it in a juicer or blender with some water and you now have your delicious, tasty, refreshing pineapple juice rich in vitamin A, C, enzyme bromelain and beta carotene.

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by and lets read about the other 5 next time... see ya!!!
