Existing feeding machines for poultry farming

Hello guys , greetings to all steemians I like to use this article to talk about the different feeding machines that can be used in a poultry farm to ease feeding of the fowls in it.

Introduction

Here are some existing feeding machines,

1. Automatic chain feeding

The automatic chain feeding machine introduced the first world’s automatic chain feeding
system by the Big Dutchman in the year 1938. Daily hand-feeding of the flock was very time
consuming, triggering the idea of an automatic feeder system. A new era dawned for the
poultry industry. Thanks to its robust and simple principle, the chain feeding system has
proved itself a million times over. The basic concept – feed hopper, drive unit, corner, trough
and the champion feed chain has remained unchanged
The entire system however is continuously being improved and adapted to today’s
requirements for modern poultry production. The Big Dutchman feed chain CHAMPION can
be used for any type of production, including layer breeders kept in cages, pullets from their
first day of life and laying hens. The chain also feeds broiler breeders reared on the floor and
is furthermore a great option in alternative egg production

2.Automatic Feeder

In case of automatic feeder the feed is supplied to the entire length of the poultry house by
specially designed feed troughs with auger type or chain type devices to move the feed from
the feed bins to the other end.
These are operated with electricity and the height of the feeder can be adjusted depending
upon the age of the birds.

Enrichment and natural wearing of the beak poultry farmers as well as their layers will benefit from the newly developed Big Dutchman product Pick Puck. Pick Puck occupies the hens and remains permanently interesting because the birds can act out their natural behavior of searching feed. A swinging plate with a coarse surface is suspended below a drop pipe with attractive feed such as wheat. When a hen picks onto the plate or nudges it

Suspended transport feeder system with pipes and automated feeder pans for 2nd age chicks. A large quantity of feed is kept inside a tank above. The feed is distributed to the various feeding pans through the pipes by gravity.

1. Trolley feeding system

The trolley feeding machine is a feeding machine powered by a diesel engine and controlled by the farmer by pushing on a four tyre wheels. It is used to feed layers where layers are being fenced in a column three rows building. The trolley is loaded with a specific quantity of feed and a conveyor consisting of an auger propels the feed on an incline tube of different heights depending on how the building is constructed. As the trolley move the feed is been poured out from the tube to a long horizontal feeding pan
