Recently there have been a big surge to the Power-up on the Steemit platform. Most steemians especially newbies just believe it's a way to reinvest to make the Steemit platform booming. But very few people get a good understanding of how this functions not just within Steemit but with the outside world.

This means we increase the demand for for Steem in the market and remember we said increase demand for a currency increases the price and thus it's value.

Remember Steem power is not like we are using up our Steem. No, when you convert Steem to Steem power in a lay man's language and looking at the banking situation, we can say you are simply taking money from your Current account and putting into Deposit account. It's still your money, the only difference is, you will have to inform the bank atleast 2 weeks prior to your withdrawing it.

That's same thing with Steem and Steem Power, but it's still your currency, currency that you have decided to stake or save for future use

This is very important for us steemians and investors to have an increase in the price of Steem. The higher the price of Steem the more investors it attracts from the Crypto market. So looking at the outside world, powering up is a win win for all of us.

1. Gain more Influence on Steemit platform. If you are a newbie, you must have noticed that older steemians received more attention and have more Influence on the platform. Take for example, @thegreens or @saxopedia write a post and it gets more interaction than a post written by me or any other steemian. It is because of the Steem power. Steem power gives you more Influence on the Steemit platform.

2. Earn more. We already know that powering up is a way of making Steemit to flourish and investing in future and power ups are highly supported by the @steemitblog which is the Steemit team. So the more power ups you do the more likely you are to receiving and earning upvotes. Just like the case of #club5050 now.
   Moreover, the more Steem power you have, the more rewards that your will get when you vote on other people's post.

3. Helping others on Steemit. The way that Steemit platform is setup, no one can grow on their own. No one is an Island.
