How are you dear steemians? Hopefully you all will be fine with the blessings of Almighty Allah. I'm @drcrypto1 from Pakistan and today I am going to write about World's soil day. Let's start;

World Soil Day:

The world soil day is a celebration to encourage people of the this world to remember that our sustenance starts with the ground we stand on, mean we are created with this soil and we should recognize our identity. Beside this soil is an important natural source from which we get a lot of eatable things and cultivate different fields in this soil.

Actual Date: December 5th:

Every year on December 5th the world soil day is celebrated so that we can get know about the importance of this soil. World Soil Day is celebrated to make the awareness about the quality and health of the soil. The purpose of celebrating this day is to explain the importance of the soil that how this soil is supporting life on the Earth, After getting awareness, people take actions towards sustainable utilization and protection of the soil.

Propose a mascot for World Soil Day:

THE MASCOT

A brief description:
In above mascot we can see that a plant is growing from this soil. This is not only a plant, it is showing that how this soil bringing a new life in this world.

The changes this day has brought to the community:

1. Increased awareness:

World Soil Day helps us in raising awareness about improving on nutrition by implementing appropriate farming techniques that helps in the development of natural resources.

2. Educational programs:

Schools, colleges and community organizations have come up with soil based education and demonstration on the importance to improve soil quality and how it should be done.

3. Local projects:

Some stakeholders involve in local programs that involve conservation of our soil for planting trees, use of cultivate crops and minimal ploughing. The purposes of like these projects is to enhance the physical condition of the soil and for conservating our natural assets.

4. Policy change:

When people get more awareness about the role of soil in sustaining life than there is an increasing opportunity of government help in soil conservation and proper use of the soil like making funds for these activities.

Active promoters and impact improvement:

To increase the impact of this day within the community all over the world, several actions can be taken like:

1. Expand outreach:

Engage local newspaper, radio, schools and local community organizations to spread the awareness on the need to care of the soil.

2. Introduce interactive events:

For getting more attention of the community, we can held different seminars and practical exercises including soil walks, workshops and farm practicing to remind the community about the importance of soil.

3. Establish community gardens:

Promoting more garden projects in the neighborhood to teach residents how to use environmental friendly techniques in growing their crops.

4. Funds and incentives:

Local and national governments along with the INGOs should provide motivation in form of some incentives and funds so that people get encourage and can adopt the ways that are fit for conservation agriculture or adopting sustainable farming practices.

In conclusion:
When people will carry out these actions mentioned above and will increase the awareness of the importance of soil, than World Soil Day can greatly change communities all over the world by maintaining and improving the practices of this valuable great natural resource.
