Gender and Peace Building

The key priority of every society is to make sure it is peaceful, everyone is living in peace, security, justice and satisfaction from its inhabitants. In recent years, its been noticed that, women have turn to advocate for their voices to be heard, socially, politically, religiously and economically in fragile and post-conflict environments. The continues quest for gender equality has led to the destruction of peace in our various communities but if this issue is looked into especially at the early stage of the quest, it will lead to a strong, united and prosperous system that will be hard to crumble.

The lack of will power from stakeholders makes it hard to maintain a system void of inequality. Methods of intervention needs to be well designed and it's functioning followed up properly inorder to make sure women are incorporated into the system for a better outcome.

Furthermore, the neglect of women and girls needs especially during post-conflict scenes has led to a lot of social disparities in our community. If programs are created to educate the public on the importance of paying attention to women and girls needs like the availability of health services, capacity building programs and psychosocial services, it will be of great help in maintaining a peaceful community.

Lastly, it is very important for every society to take anything concerning gender very important. Seeing it as less important or worthless only worsens then situation. The suppression, corruption and discrimination against women can be promoted if not looked into with a lot of caution. Efforts to look into gender sensitive issues should be increased. Women should be made leaders, placed in good government positions inorder to actually understand their needs.
