Creative writing contest. 2021/2022 back to school preparedness
This is one of the opportunities for some of us to share our true stories as to how much of a damage this crisis has caused.

Back to school has always been a time of rush. Just like the Christmas season, you can see the market and the streets flooded with people buying and selling.
Finances has also been a problem during this time of the year (even before the crisis) and now with the current situation in this part of the country, things have become worse. For over 5 years school has been a major setback to both parents students and teachers.
This year, my younger brother will be going to a boarding school. He is in uppersixth and he needs less distraction.
Again, he was kidnapped last year on his way back from school so we would not want that to happen again. Having to buy school needs for him from scratch since he has never been to a boarding school before was not an easy task. I watch myself loose weight one a day.😅.
The family is bereaved so there is alot of challenges right now. We all have to squeeze whatever we can to get the essentials needed for a school start...
I don't know if it's just me or parents /guardians prefer to shop just a few days before school. I would not blame anyone. Finances are hard to come by these days. Just living in this part of the world is a huge job. Having to dodge bullet's here and there 😅.
My little nephew is halfway done. Getting his items were not easy as well. We have gotten a few note books and pencil for him to start with and hopefully after the funeral and by the next month we must have raised some money to complete the books and start paying his fees. Everything(financialy) went to my brother who's needs were a little bit more pressing.
That is the level of preparedness for my family...As for me... I will not be going to school this year. I have to stay home so that my siblings go too.
We hope for better next year.
Dodging bullets, escaping kidnappings, watching horror videos, battling with COVID-19 and living in an economically dwindling region has made back to school a nightmare for most people.
However, i am glad that you did it!
Loosing weight is normal during back to school periods lol.
