The Diary Game [20/12/2024] // Christmas Shopping.
Compliments of the season @everyone and it is yet another day for me to share my lifestyle content with you all. This season has been a complicated one for us living in a crisis zone with frequent imposed lockdowns on us by separatists fighters. Every morning or evening is quite tensed with heavy gunshots and explosives.
All Saturdays have been declared lockdown and makes it complicated for us to buy our items for the season. Today, I decided to do some of the shopping to then finalised it on Tuesday since Saturday and Monday are lockdown. I left the house to a shop where I often buy my kids shoe and clothes.
It was a 10 minutes drive to the shop but I took almost 40 minutes due to heavy traffic on the road. While at the shop, I already had what in mind to buy for my kids because I already communicated with the shop owner and he send me samples of what he had at his shop.
I selected the dresses and shoes for my three kids and negotiated the prices. Here you have to check your negotiation skills because these sellers can exploit a lot during this season. They take advantage of the current inflation and inflate all prices. I bargained and we came to an agreement and I paid for the items.
When I was done at the shop for dresses and shoes, I left to another shop to buy wine for the season for my visitors. I bought Amarula cream ( this is my favourite drink) The price had doubled to the initial price range I use to buy back then when prices were moderate.
The next stop was at a bakery to buy some French bread for my kids breakfast the next day since it was a lockdown. While at the bakery, I noticed the place was so empty and I wonder the kind of loses they must have incurred during the crisis’ for over 8 years now and still counting.
The last stop I made today was at a grocery shop to buy some groceries for my kids. Yes, everything was about them concerning the shopping today because they all had outstanding results.
I left the grocery shop back home to continue with the shopping another day. I was feeling exhausted already. When I arrived home, I went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Literally, I spent the whole day moving around town just to buy my kids stuffs to reduce the pressure on the 24th. While after cooking, we ate together and watched the Série A game between Verona and Milan. It was an interesting game as it ended 1:0 in favour of Milan.
After the match, I concluded the day by drinking my lemon and tea herbs to boost my immune system. It was stressful but was necessary and until my next diary session, it is goodnight from my end.
