The Diary Game [16/12/2024] Lockdown day with a difference.
Compliments of the season @everyone and welcome to my blog as I share my lifestyle content with you all. This month has been the most hectic month for me as the year comes to an end. The season is not treating us well with the Harmattan cold and dust affecting my family with constant colds and flu. The worst of it is that all medications taken seem not to be effective anymore.
The morning hours are usually cold and I had to wake up a bit late though was working on my phone while still in bed. The separatist fighters had declared all Saturdays and Mondays of this December month to be in lockdown. Meaning, movement around town is restricted, all office closed and all shops closed. It baffles me because this is a festive season and shutting down businesses at this moment is ridiculous. But what can we do, only get annoyed but cannot do anything because we are afraid of being used as a scapegoat.
I usually buy my food items on Saturdays because it is the only day I'm free. Due to the lockdown, I cannot buy food on weekends. I left the house early in the morning and walked to a roadside vendor to buy huckleberry. During this season, I eat a lot of vegetables to stay healthy. The dust during this season makes me go out with a facemask on.
Walking along the road, I noticed the road was somehow busy with some people moving around doing some exercises while others going to the farm and also one could spot some bike riders moving along the street. No car was seen moving and also shops were shut down. Only those roadside vendors could be spotted selling. Shops and cars can be easily targeted by separatist fighters if they are caught operating in lockdown days. The reason why only roadside vendors can easily operate though still risky to an extent.
I bought the Huckleberry at an exorbitant price and it kept me wondering, if this continues this way, life will be unbearable to many households because they cannot afford to eat. I walked back home and was ready to cook. While preparing the things to cook, I developed headache and fever at the same time. I had to abandon the things and went into the sheets.
After resting for about 2 hours, I got up feeling a bit better though not stil stable. My husband was not at home to assist and we had to bear it all alone with the kids. I had to struggle to prepare the meal for us to eat.
The evening hours were still not good enough because I still found myself weak and unable to do things as usual. I had asked my daughter to undo her hair so that I could make a new hairdo but it was so frustrating to the extent that I almost allowed the hair. I struggled to make some simple cornrow just so that the hair does not tangled. I will have to take her to the salon by Sunday for a better hairstyle for Christmas.
The evening period I had to complete curating with the SC05 account. I searched from blog to blog and communities for quoty content and rewarded them with an upvote. Guys, the day was not bad as per our usual lockdown day. No gunshots on this day which was unlike that but we hope for better days ahead. Until my next diary session, enjoy your workday🥰.

Hola amiga,
Por lo descrito estos dias no son los mejores en cuanto al mal clima que promueve resfriados y en cuanto al confinamiento que trae consigo escasez y a su vez sobreprecios.

Greetings friend, I have tried local herbs as well but still not effective. Maybe I should try tea as you suggested. Any recommended tea for us? This harmattan season this year is harsh on us. Thank you for wishing us well.
So the government military has no control of the area at all? That doesn't sound too good for them or you and yours.
Government military are around but more corrupt as their interest is to target cars and those moving around without national identity cards to extort money from them. The situation is complicated and citizens are suffering. Both separatists fighters and the military puts their self-interests first.

Yes, war causes people to put cover their own butt first. Sounds like you feel better after all the sickness.
Yeah, I’m better but the harmattan dust still affecting us with cough.
Lockdown is everywhere,I thought it is only here in Nigeria.
It is surprising to hear about this over there.
But is it total lockdown, because over here it only in Igbo speaking State in Nigeria that ate doing it due to the independent state they are looking for.
So on Mondays no activities and people will be finding it difficult to go about their daily activities.
So I would have like to have an idea about this one of Cameroon,is it in the French speaking language or English speaking.
Lockdown is not good at all when it comes to it negative effect.
I think government over there should start now to do something about the situation.
It boring any time I heard about lockdown because am suffering here in Nigeria every Monday,my business will be down.
It not easy but God will help his people.
I think Nigeria copied the lockdown thing from this separatists guys from Cameroon. Since 2016 that we have been experiencing Mondays as lockdown and at times even 3 weeks straight has been declared lockdown. Imagine staying at home for 3 weeks?
It is only in the English speaking regions of the country experiencing it but it kind of affects the whole country in terms of food scarcity. Most farmers are from these regions, one of the reasons why food prices are skyrocketed every day.
