The Diary Game [02/03/2025] // Weekend at Home.

Steem greetings @everyone and welcome to my blog as I share my lifestyle content with you all. Sundays are meant for worship of our creator as a Christian family but we did not go to church today. I was not in good mode to prepare the kids and ensure they ate well before good service time. I have tried several times and could not catch up with the time. The reason why most often I had to follow the service online.

Notwithstanding, today I just decided to get enough rest at home though had some house chores to be done. I first of all do some cleaning. The harmattan dust is still much visible but I can’t wait for 15 March for the predicted day of the rainy season to begin.

After the cleaning, I washed dirty dishes and pots heated water bath the kids and dressed them up. I proceeded to cook our meal for the day which was Ogbono soup with fufu. I removed the soup from the refrigerator and allowed it to defrost while I prepared the fufu. When I was done with the fufu, the soup was defrosted and I heated it and we all were together. My kids so much loved the soup, I guess they are just a replica of their dad and very selective with food. It makes me sceptical about spending my precious time cooking something they might not eat. I was satisfied they loved the fufu and ogbono.

After relaxing outdoors, I had to log into Steemit and fill in the Google Sheets of team 4 community curators for March 2025. It was not my curation day but I curated the previous day and due to unannounced blackouts and internet disruptions, I could not fill in the data.

The weather was kind of hot and I had some fresh mangoes from my father-in-law’s compound. These are natural mangoes and not the forcibly ripe mangoes I usually buy from the market. Last season I bought forcely ripe mangoes with chemicals which almost cost our lives. We suffered severe diarrhoea.

My sons do not like mangoes and are the most selective beings I have ever seen when it comes to fruits and food in general. They do not eat meat or fish, and the only fruit they eat so well is bananas. Because they were not interested in eating the mangoes, I removed part of our Christmas chinchin for them to eat as snacks. I had forgotten that the chinchin was still available.

Then came the evening hour of soccer. We had to start with the FA Cup match between New Castle versus Brighton. Do not ask me who I was supporting but it was obvious that I supported Brighton because of my fellow Cameroonian midfielder Baleba. The drama of the game played till 90 minutes when both teams eneded on a 1:1 aggregate. Then the prolongation until almost at the end of the game Brighton scored the winning goal.

We proceeded to watch the game between Manchester United versus Fulham. The United fans were not happy with the past results of the game and it could be seen in the write-ups they displayed on the field.

To me, these write-ups were not necessary but rather demoralizing the players and affecting their mental health. The results of the game were still a failure and though they tried their best to win their best was not good enough.

After the game, we chatted for a while while my kids watched Mickymouse. I had to call it a day and say Happy New Week to all the amazing working-class ladies on the platform.
