Diary Game Of Tuesday 08th August 2023: Taking Part In A Baby Shower Ceremony

Hello great steemians receive my greetings from your different locations around the world.I hope you are doing just good because I doing great and I come again for another diary episode which is all about me attending a baby shower.

How I Spent My Day

Knowing that we had to attain a baby shower in Bafoussam, my mother prepared our minds the day before that we need to wake up early and Pound Achu with which we are to go.
She wake us that morning at 5:30 am but I for one was still grumbling even though she had told us before but we slept late due to some work. My kid sisters and I went and arranged the cocoyam in the pot and stood it on the fire. While the cocoyam was on the fire we did cleaning of the house and dishes then other little work we had to do and when the cocoyam was ready by 7am, two mortars and pistes were ready for my direct kid sister and I mean while my mom and other sister were peeling the cocoyam for us.

While we were pounding The Achu my mom made the soup and by 9: am we were done. It's then that my father told us that we have to reached the gathering place at Bafoussam before 10:30am. We took buckets and ran to the stream to fetch water to bath since there was not even drop in the house.

With the hurry and pressure we still left the house around past 10am the gathering time met us in mbouda town when we were looking for a car to Bafoussam but we arrived there by 11:30 there's one of my aunty that didn't spare us with talk while she was angry and she was right but we where the last so we still waited for others who were on their way. While waiting my other aunty was peeling her egussi so I joined her until it was time for departure to the house.
We entered the house 1 by 1 and the owner of the house was greeting and receiving every basket and gift that each person was carrying as they entered and sat down.

Everyone was sited already

When we were sited we started singing nice baby songs in the dilet before we were presented the baby and the mother, followed by the gifts handling to the mother and baby boy and then it was already the most awaiting time, the the eating time. On the table we have rice and stew, fufucorn vegetables and nkui, Achu with yellow soup.

Done eating and drinking we had some discussions, debate and recall about other occasions in the family while some of us were digesting our food and other were having round 2 and 3😂.

After digesting, there was a little dance before we separated since places were getting dark. My elder sister, my father and I went together leaving my mother and kid sister behind since they were delaying forgetting that I was the one holding their transport but I was very grateful to God that they thought of it when we hadn't gone far.
We reached the house in mbouda around 8:30 I directly when to bed. The day was a tiring one.
