THE DIARY GAME: HOW I MANAGED MY SUNDAY (26TH JAN, 2025)

Sunday was my favorite day of the week as they offer a balance of spiritual renewal, family bonding, and relaxation from a stressful week at work. This past Sunday, I ensured it was both productive and refreshing by organizing my activities efficiently. In the morning when I woke up from sleep. I spent a few moments in prayers, then had a little of stress exercise and then hurriedly prepared to attend church service, this was a routine that fills me with peace and sets a positive tone for the week.

On arriving in the church, the atmosphere was filled with songs of praises to God for keeping us this far. This was lead by the gospel band singers. Thereafter, we entered into the prayer sessions, then the choir gave their renditions it was really a spirit filled one. Bible lessons were read from different portions of the bible. The sermon, focusing on "A Vessel for Honor" This inspired me and reminded me of the importance of counting my blessings. After the service, I greeted a few friends and exchanged pleasantries before heading out for the day’s tasks.

After church, I visited the market to buy foodstuffs for the week. The bustling atmosphere, filled with vendors calling out their wares and customers haggling for better prices, was lively as usual. I purchased freshly diced afang leaf, meat, water snails because it's in season, spices and other ingredients for preparing soup and stew. Knowing how much my family enjoys homemade meals, I carefully selected the best produce and returned home with bags full of fresh items.

Once home, I immediately set to work in the kitchen. With the assistant of my kid sister we, Prepared soup and stew for the family is a task I enjoy doing on a weekend for the family and this will be enough to take us throughout the week. While the stew simmered on the gas, the aroma filled the house, drawing everyone into the kitchen to sneak a taste 😊

By the time the cooking was complete, I felt accomplished but also physically drained. After cleaning up, I had a light meal and settled down then in the evening, I went on a strolled with my hubby. When we came back I rested, I spent the quiet hours watching a movie with my family. Apparently had some rest after a productive day. This always feels rewarding, and I was grateful for the time spent with my loved ones. My Sunday ended on a peaceful note, leaving me rejuvenated and ready for the week ahead. Sundays like these remind me of the importance of balancing work, worship, family bonding and rest.
