Steem greetings beloved ones. It is with a lot of pleasure that I share with you today this piece of writing on occupational hazards and how they can be prevented.

Occupational hazards are the various health problems associated with the different occupations. Many health problems arise in our community today which are very much related to the different occupations.These may be long term or short term, ranging from acute to severe or life threatening situations and with adequate knowledge, we can be able to minimize most of these hazards.
Every occupation has its associated hazards. In this first chapter I would be talking about some health hazards associated with carpentry as an occupation and how they can be prevented.

Below are some of the problems associated with carpentry

Eye problems as a result of tiny wood particles flying into the eyes
Skin irritation caused by chemicals and tiny particles from wood
Injuries and cuts mostly on the hands from machines.
Hearing impairment due to noise from machines.
Muscle strains and joint damage from lifting of heavy objects.

These harzards can be prevented in the following ways

Wear protective eye equipments to prevent particles getting into the eyes.
Wear protective clothing that covers the whole body so as to protect the skin from irritants.
Serious care should be taken when dealing with sharp and dangerous machines.
Machines that make alot noise should not be used for a very long time.
Avoid lifting too heavy objects; seek assistance from a colleague if the object is too heavy to be lifted by an individual.

With knowledge we can be able to minimize health problems associated with carpentry in our community. Hope this was helpful.
